No, not at all.

For the '12 Brooklyn and Newarks I spent a week in NYC and a week for last year's Christmas. Plus a couple of days for the Wood/Taylor shows. Times Sq is Disney-fied, walked through Central Park at all hours through the night with no problems. Same with Chinatown and most other places. Pickpockets were my only concern and didn't experience any of that. A lot of police presence too.

I'm not one to spread rumors, so if this had come from any other source I wouldn't bother...BUT, a family member of mine is in the loop of the production team of the Bonnaroo festival. And, read this next sentence closely, they are IN TALKS with the Stones management about getting them for 2015. The point being they are IN TALKS and nothing more. This could come to naught, but if it should materialize, you heard it here first!

there were also talks abou Coachella in 2013, which Mick called off "cos it's too early" but they ended up playing the American Tour in that timeframe anyway. a Sanfrancisco girl i met at Roskilde called that an excuse for not playing there, because "even Mick Jagger would find it too mainstream". so what kind of Festival should Jagger choose? something reasonably popular, but not in the mainstream yet. just like Pinkpop or Roskilde. or maybe Bonnaroo? don't know very much about it. except it's located in Tennnessee? the US didn't get a Stones festival as of now...

Bonnaroo had it's most mainstream lineup this year, IMHO. Years past have been very diverse and a seemingly perfect environment for a Stones show.

I have a "believe it when I see it" skepticism myself, but with all the talk of South American shows in 2015, in my mind it made it slightly plausible, as they'd be in the right hemisphere.

Not far fetched at all.

Bonnaroo's one of the biggest festivals in the US, and has hosted many top acts. Would think it's not the first time they've put out feelers.

That's actually the point I was trying to make - that they are putting together an offer. Whether anyone bites will remain to be seen. Would make a helluva festival tho.

When there are talks about one show in the USA, then it means that they want to do something in North America in the summer of 2015. Otherwise there wouldn't be this kind of offer.

True - but just keep in mind this is just talk. Bonnaroo generally tries to have a massive headliner each year, so it wouldn't surprise me that if it was in the air that the Stones might do some gigs in SOUTH AMERICA that they would attempt to lure them north.

The last time they played SOUTH AMERICA it was prefaced with about 6-7 US cities, some of which they had already hit more than once! (Chicago, Atlanta, etc)

Just keep your ears open if this is something you'd be interested in attending b/c 'Roo tickets would go fast.

Bonnaroo seems to be becoming more mainstream with each passing year--the Stones would be a better fit for it than for Glasto, and they've already done that one, so it's not that it's an inappropriate fest for them. The Austin Psych Fest might be, but . . . grinning smiley

Apparently, the Stones will play 9 shows in South America, included Mexico.

I think the Stones will do 15 cities in North America after South America,I got this from a good source. When I was in Europe this summer at one of their shows I met a guy that was doing the stage, we got to very good friends and he revealed that to me. He thinks it will happen but anything can happen as Mick is unpredictable. I hate to be kept waiting til next year wish they would just announce their whole tour for next year soon as people can plan holidays, hotels...etc.

It is someone from the staff who told me that in Paris. I didn't have more information about that. Just that the tour would be in Feb/March : 9 shows are panned.

Well it seems they haven't needed to do that so far, so I would imagine they feel the need to announce things too far forward unfortunately.

The new reality....at least they're still playing.

There were posters all over Europe for Katy Perry's upcoming tour ... in 2015. Quite odd, I thought.
