So why isn't GS from Mobile 72 mentioned in this thread?

Perhaps because of its dubious sound quality. winking smiley
Anyway, so many great Shelters from those 72 and 73 tours. But here you have it:

Lucky Keith who found utmost match!

Mick Taylor (guitar) - true - for a while
Mick Jagger (song writing) - for a while, Mick was the lucky one
Brian Jones (arrangement) - For a while, a brilliant guitar partner
Charlie Watts (rythm) - true
Ron Wood (mate) - for a while, his best guitar PARTNER

Are we talking about talent/skill here, or personal taste? smiling smiley

OK. Keith was nothing but lucky, SF isn't better than IORR, Brian couldn't play, Charlie is good tonight and the Stones didn't have a revival with SG and TY.

I get it grinning smiley

Just wanted to show how it looks if you say controversial things, purely based on taste like Mark did.

At least, I had some facts thrown in there somewhere winking smiley

I didn't say Keith was lucky, or Brian couldn't play, nor did I say controversial things- I shouldn't have quoted. Just an objective question about the playing relationship between Keith and the rest of the guitar staff.smiling smiley

I know smiling smiley

But Mark said Keith was lucky on all accounts, hence I wanted to give him a little reversed tongue in cheek-reply. That obviously rubbed off a bit in my reply to you as well, sorry smiling smiley

If you read my more serious reply above, I said all three guitarists were a perfect match for Keith, for different reasons. And, yes, that is according to my own aquired taste.

One of my favourite Taylor performances is You Gotta Move. The sound he gets out of each note on that track is worth more than many of his fast solos combined, imo.

Sheer beauty thumbs up

Here is one more that really shows his brilliance. It is an alternate version of Shine a light that I like better than the released Exile version. Enjoy. This may be embedded nd will refer you to YOu TUbe to watch.
