He really should stop
Should The Stones stop? Should McCartney? How about The Who? I can tell you that for some people when they stop doing what they love its a death sentence. We are all of us in uncharted territory with Rock and Roll. This is the first generation of rockers to get to be elderly, let alone pensioners. Chuck, L Richard, JL Lewis, B.B.King... no one will stop until they are quite dead. Bo Diddley, Carl Perkins or even Elvis, not one of them stopped until they were stone dead.
People try to stop. Christine McVie, Bill Wyman, John Lennon, Brian May, Mose Allison, PJ Proby, Phil Collins and they all come crawling back. It's the nature of the beast. Now, Eric Clapton is going to 'retire from touring' next year. I wish him good luck.
Year after year from now until the end expect more of the same.

he can do what he pleases. And you can part with your money or not. There is something heroic about riding the horse till it throws you. I don't think it diminishes his legacy.
He's always done what he pleases, nothing you or I might ever have said or might yet have to say would ever have had or would ever now alter that ........ so what's your point ?
And I will certainly no longer part with my money to see him nowadays, he has done great to stay playing until now. But I have to disagree with you about the legacy, because in part someone's legacy is what YOU remember of them. I don't wish to remember him as the sad shadow of his once glorious rock n' rollin' self that unfortunately he has become today. What's down on vinyl is one thing, you cannot argue the magnificence of that, but he really ought to bow out of live performances now. It is becoming a little embarrassing.
Needless to say you'll disagree. Whatever ........... ?

I love Chuck's music, no matter what. However, there were big trouble during his recent visit in Denmark.
This is from www.dr.dk, the danish national television website:
The trip did not go quite easily. Chuck Berry made several stops along the way, first at a gas station where he went in, threw everyone out, and banned other entering. He also called, for unknown reasons, the Randers Police.
The people who were with him got with some difficulty, him back in the car. However, it were not long before he again had stopped the car and went his way along the ring road.
-The hunt is on for three hours, Chuck Berry goes well five or six kilometers, finally they get him into the car during violent protest, and they arrive at the Hotel Royal, says Carsten Ortmann.
Here refuses Chuck Berry then to avail of the ' Madonna-suite ', as he is offered, and he puts it so petulant in the lobby. Here he falls asleep, and are eventually worn up in his room.
Carsten Ortmann points out that Chuck Berry may have these starstruck behaviours because he through his life has experienced so much frustration with rasicm.

Sarcastic, oh no!
But I'm (pleasently) surprised someone cared enough to go see Chuck twice, tape both shows, and share his tapes online.
