Don't worry they will announce dates before the end of the year - that way the promotors can have the millions we will pay them to see the Stones sitting in their bank accounts earning interest for 6 months...

Bon Jovi have confirmed that they are playing Wembley Stadium on June 11, 2006

Unless the Stones sneak in the weekend before this, it seems that this will be the first concert at the new stadium.

Absolute sacrilege if thats the case

This can't be right. The Stones must open the new Wembley Stadium. And I'm quite sure they will!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is also an honour for the Stones themselves IMO.

Twickenham is provisionally booked as a back up for Wembley.

Fortunatly Small Heath is not provisionally booked as a back up to Villa Park!

A company in the UK press is advertising an 'official' hotline for Twickenham in August. Southampton for 9th June is also a rumour which is 10 miles from here.

Where did Björnulf wrote about the two Twickenham bookings?
For Licks the concert dates have been announced in December to make a x-mas deal. I assume this will be the same as last time. Perhaps mid November, but I do not think so.

VILLA PARk VILLA PARK VILLA PARK VILLA PARK VILLA PARK

VILLA PARk VILLA PARK VILLA PARK VILLA PARK VILLA PARK

i demand Villa Park!

Villa Park would actually be a good venue...I have been there a few times for the football - and if you have to be in a Stadium environment - it would be good. Compact - clear sight lines and easyish to get into and out. It would get my vote over Wembley....

They won't play Villa Park in preference to Wembley, but will definatly play it in preference to the small stadium in Small Heath. This will only happen if the Brummies get a show, only rumoured at the moment. I guess if Cardiff gets a show, the Brummies won't.

Small heath definatly not in consideration, amendments to the stage design are also planned for the European leg.

The Stones have changed there plans for the UK next summer, all dates will now be in August and not the June opening of Wembley as first reported.

Belgium will be the starting country for the European tour, with it ending in the UK, the UK will also feature a number of theatre gigs and possibly include a Birmingham show (Birmingham does not mean Small Heath)

Don't think there will be several show's at the Astoria, that is a bit to much to ask.

Re: UK gigs

Actually I am sorry, but I would hope for a better Venue than Astoria. This was the only hanger in my personal Licks Tour
1 hour 43 minutes just playing down the songs and drunk people who did not even have asingle interest in the band up there didn't really fire my feelings for that night. I'd even would go rather for Wembley arena which I enjoyed much more not speaking of other Theatre shows which had a much better atmosphere. But perhaps I just expected to much of the boys being in London.

The Astoria is not a great venue, that's the trouble with Stones theatre shows in London, to many friends and family attend so it's more like a family reunion for them as opposed to a special gig for fans.

Was up at Villa Park at the weekend and as the match was rubbish I took the opportunity to have a good look at the ground - it would actually be a very good venue. No columns or upper level overhangs to block view (as per Twickenham) so clear sightlines. Quite compact - I would guess 35,000 capacity ish...I would struggle to say there would be a bad view in the house there...there is reasonable access to the ground, I think it would be a good choice - and hope they go for it. If I had to be outside would prefer there than the new Wembley - just too big is my impression and the City of Manchester Stadium is large as well with the running track.

The Brixton Academy is the best club venue in London.

good point about the theatre shows too many celebs etc turn up so the real fans can't get in.. half the people there don't care and the ones that do had to pay a few thousand to a tout to get in..

as i've said before i'd like a proper home gig at somewhere like Blackheath concert halls or somewhere in Dartford

Re: UK gigs

I think at Shepherds Bush the capacity of the venue was 1800 and 1,000 tickets were sold to fans (1 per person)...which goes to show how many hangers on there are that these shows..its annoying that a high percentage of the tickets for these shows arent made available for fans considering the shows are always trumpeted as being aimed at them...still, its better than nothing (easy for me to say as I got into both Shepherds Bush and Astoria I suppose!)

I think on the last tour the Astoria and Roseland were the hardest of the theatre shows to get tickets for as they had the least amount of tickets released on the morning of the show (due no doubt to the large numbers of hangers-on who will have contacts with the band in both New York and London)
