It's usually obvious whether its Wood or Richards, but this one has me stumped. I know in the video Wood mimes to the solo (with a rubber guitar).

Some will insist its Chuck but I think it's Keith...very Berryish

That's Keith. Keith does that blending of notes with those bluesy chords. Ronnie is more slingy or noodly with his notes.

If its Keith, he must have borrowed Wood's guitar and amp because that tone is all Ron Wood!

That tone is all over Undercover in their solos.

Ronnie supposedly made a joke about himself cutting a solo where he tried to sound exactly like Keith. I think this was the one.

If it indeed was a joke, it is Keith who is playing - and it sure sounds that way, imo.

Was Keith still playing solos on new material this late? I thought in Stones Mach III it's Keith on rhythm and Ron on lead.

Right before the ending the solo comes to a halt, like Keith often does. Ronnie doesn't.

The double string bends is something Ronnie rarely does like this.

It could be Ronnie impersonating Keith, but I wouldn't put my money on it

I think they shared lead-duties, really. In the Brian-era, Keith was the lead-player; with Taylor, he was more rhythm-orientated and with Ronnie, I have always felt that they blend their lead and rhythmic styles together. Sad, Sad, Sad, You Got Me Rocking and Flip The Switch are just three example of latter-day recordings to feature a Keith Richards guitar-solo.

Agreed. The first half of it does sound like something Ronnie might play, but the second half has Keith's little Keithisms all over it. Listen to the single-string bends at the very start of the second half of the solo. I had originally thought it was Ronnie too, but countless listenings have changed my mind. If it really was Ronnie mimicing a Keith type solo though, I must give him props.

Man, I really cannot tell at all. It starts out phrased like a Wood solo but ends up like Richards. But the tone sounds like Wood all the way through.

And it doesn't sound like a Strat or a Tele. It sounds like hollow body Gibson or Les Paul Jr. Maybe even a Zemaitis.

Keith of course. And it's not one fluid solo but a cut and paste solo.

It's good, it recycles years of studying C. Berry licks, it's tight it's Keith's!

Plus it's defo a Keith song so why wouldn't he lay a nice solo on his song/
