Does anybody know what guitar effect does Ronnie use on Paint it Black live when playing the sitar / guitar?

Brian should have gotten a writer’s credit for this just as he should have for Ruby Tuesday,2000Light Years and others

Why? The lyrics and melody were not his. Adding sitar over an already-created melody isn't song-writing, is it?

Why? It's Keith who plays the riff in the beginning, a riff he claimed he wrote.

Can't see what Brian could have written in 2000 LYFH, either.

From Guitargearfinder.com:

There are four ways you can make your guitar sound like a sitar:

- Use a MIDI pickup
- Use a sitar simulator pedal
- Use a Line 6 Variax
- Use an Electric Sitar

Ronnie did the latter, at least on the Licks-tour. Keith did that as well, on Suspicious (Crosseyed Heart), methinks.

My guess is that Ronnie is using alternative #2 on stage these days.

Can't see what Brian could have written in 2000 LYFH, either.

Keith plays the main riff throughout the song, shadowed by the sitar.

Ron Wood has used various Danelectro Baby Sitar's for years on stage.

But hasn't Ronnie also played with a simulator, using a regular electric guitar?

Keith is playing throughout indeed. The reason I mentioned "in the beginning" is that so many believe that the intro is played by Brian on sitar (probably due to the weird sound Keith is getting in the end of the intro).
