Ultimate Classic Rock describes the Penny Lane video as a "colourful London travelogue"....in their review of the "1" DVD package.

The Beatles' "1+" will be released tomorrow as well as the new James Bond movie
"Spectre."

New 007 and Beatles. Is it 1965?

For the Beatles and Bond, yes, it's 1965. Which is better than living in the State of Arizona, U-S-A, where they, the powers that be, always want it to be 1952 America. It's a trip here, boys and girls, it's a trip.

Actually.... The first Bond Movie (Dr No.) had its London Premiere on 5th October 1962. And that's the exact same day that The Beatles first single was released in the UK.

Quite a co-incidence really.

Eh? Knole Park was used for the "Strawberry Fields" video, not the "Penny Lane" video.

Eh? Knole Park was used for the "Strawberry Fields" video, not the "Penny Lane" video.

Both films used footage from Knole Park.

I thought part of it was filmed near the actual penny lane and part in London.

"The footage was intercut with material shot in Liverpool, of the areas mentioned in the song and of the Liverpudlian green buses. The Beatles did not feature in these segments, which were filmed on an unknown date."

Thanks as always Deltics. That's what I thought. Too bad they didn't take the time to do a complete treatment of Liverpool.

Based on watching those official vevo videos last night, I couldn't resist ordering the 2 DVD + CD (Deluxe Limited Edition) for $49.
Seems like a reasonable price, and nice book added as well.

The Beatles Deluxe Limited Edition

Had some extra spending money due to downgrading my order of the new Dylan 6cd ($119) to the 2cd ($14).
I believe I made a wise choice - still can't justify spending an additional $105 for 4 more cd's - and a book?
The colossal price difference between the two just doesn't make any kind of rational sense.

Just listened to Sgt. Pepper's straight through for the first time in a decade.

It's still incredible. Definitely in the same league as EOMS.
