So, this thread is more successful than the album. 395 000 views beats 280 000 copies!

And consider that many of us have bought multiple copies (cd, vinyl, and cassette for me), so it's not like 280 000 people bought it!
In which case this thread is WAY more successful than the album lol.

With that said, it's a great album - I'd probably even buy it on 8-track.cool smiley

The background voices are ruining this song for me. But it is kinda boring anyway. Meanwhile I use to skip it.

It will be great to have all of these song vignettes in unedited form in one lengthy video.
Perhaps this will be a part of the Crosseyed Heart Deluxe edition!

Some people have such a bizarre attitude towards things like why bother buying CDs when you can just download it or why bother buying a cassette album.

Why don't they just @#$%& right @#$%& off? It's astounding how far removed some people, especially millennials with their retro clothing and facial hair obsessions, have become from the enjoyment of having a physical copy of art.

This is the thing that millennials don't get with physical copies....whether it's a vinyl record/CD, a book or a photograph. Unless you hold it in your hands, feel it and have it in your sight, you make no emotional connection to the art. It doesn't become a memory. It doesn't become part of you. It's just consumption and disposal. Hold a old family photo in your hand and look at the same photo on a screen. Put a vinyl record on or click a tab on a computer screen, Turn the pages of a real book or scroll on a kindle. It's a different feeling.I think that explains why so many of us 'old-timers' will download a rare Stones concert but have an immediate urge to create a CD with cover art...even liner notes. I know I do. I want to 'connect' to that concert in a minimal way.

Which means, I guess, I'll have to get a physical copy of Crosseyed Heart... smiling smiley

Illusion sounds very similar to Baby Break It Down to my ears. It's the piano bit.

I was contacted by an old girlfriend today, i thought about sending her a link to "trouble" as it describes her perfectly!

If the Stones do a new album I hope it's even half as good as CROSSEYED HEART is.

Agreed.

Hadn't listened to Crosseyed Heart for awhile and revisited it today. From start to finish that baby is smooth sailing all the way.
It's one for the ages and made it's mark on my soul - something a Stones album hasn't done since Tattoo You.

If the (cd) wasn't so over compressed, I'd give it a ten. I mean come Keith, we're not all listening to this stuff on our iPhone's.

um... yes i am.

As are most consumers these days...which accounts for all the modern over-compressed production standards that many of us are fond of moaning about.

When you buy a media with the word «compact» in it, it should ring a bell at some point...

I finally have a copy of Crosseyed Heart.

I ordered it on vinyl back in September or October. It didn't arrive for store pickup until January and I didn't get around to picking it up until the beginning of this month (March). I finally got a chance to sit here and listen to it beyond a few pieces here and there, and the documentary.

I'm stuck on Side A playing it on repeat. It's pretty damn awesome! This is what a Stones album should be like from what I figure. (I'm still a big advocate for the Some Girls bonus disc too)

I'm playing the record on a 1979/1980 Sony HP-318 Stereo Music System with a turntable that plays slightly fast the way I heard records when I was a kid. Some people don't like that extra speed but personally I love it. They should do that on all their records ha!

I love every song but am enamored with Amnesia in particular while Robbed Blind gets better with each listen! I should have listened to this record earlier but I guess I had to wait until I was in the mood. Now I'm hooked!
