Keith won't tour and all you lot go on about is album sales
Rolling Stones live these days is the Mick and Chuck show and nobody cares
Unbelievable.
You just like dates, facts and figures, scarf's and clothes and all things balanced without offending anyone
i cant take any more of this
Its ocd gone wild
Nothing can draw you into a serious adult conversation about anything Rolling Stones
Ahh, but that is always the way of the world, young riffhards.
It's sometimes easier to take refuge in statistics ('cause they never lie!) and humor than it is to have "a serious adult conversation."
I took a break from this website for a while because of a stupid remark by someone who had completely misinterpreted my post; I'm sure you've had similar experiences which have dissuaded you from participating.
The "fact" is that most of the discussion on this--or any--fan board are based on opinion, anecdote, passion, etc. There's no accounting for tastes. They can differ significantly from person to person.
You might think "Amnesia" is brilliant, a harbinger of a classic album to come. I might think it's a swampy groove that's cool but more of a sketch than a song, with Keith's trademark weak vocals and not a bridge or a chorus in sight. Doesn't mean one or the other of us is right; though one of our points of view may have more "followers" here than the other.
You might think that Keith is constantly deferring to Mick when it comes to what The Stones do, how they play, what they choose to record, etc. I might think that if that is true then Keith's a pussy for not being able to stand up to Mick. They guy who threatened an Angel at Altamont is afraid of Mick Jagger? Unlikely. But who knows which of us is right?
You might think that Keith is the more talented musician and the better songwriter between the two of them. I might respond that I honestly don't care which of them is "better;" I care more about the fact that neither one of them, together or apart, has written a decent song in decades. You could be totally right and I could be wrong. Who knows?
I guess it comes down to the way we phrase things, how relatively unpopular our opinions are in the context of the rest of the board, how respectful we are of each others' right to have an opinion and to express it in public. Those are some of the hallmarks of "a serious adult conversation," as far as I'm concerned. They're not easy to have, especially on a fan board on the internet!

what I find interesting on this board is that humans tend to want to create a competition where there is none, why isn't it okay for mick and keith and everyone to be okay as they are just being themselves. Why does there need to be a conflict where there is nnone that is reasonably apparent???? I think people devolve into bickering and whining when they do not know what is going on. its a control thing. humans always have to be "my team is best" "my man is best" etc. its pretty dumb imo. let a thousand flowers bloom~!

It is funny when you think about it. THEY'RE IN THE SAME DAMN BAND! Whatever happened to bitching about The Beatles or whoever?

Ahh never mind
Thanks, I will ... or won't, now I'm confused
I'm just disappointed that Keith may be giving up something creative and new, like a solo tour, so Mick can make more millions
Another Stones tour is just more of the same.
I am done with the same old show over and over and over again

Hollywood Palladium (150-200k worldwide, 60k US)
Main Offender (400-500k worldwide, 250k US)
Wandering Spirit (2.2 - 2.3 m worldwide, +1 m Europe, 500k US)
Goddess In The Doorway (1.3 m worldwide, +500k Europe, 350k US)

True; but MJ has WAY more albums released as well - 7 titles, of which (only) one is a compilation; whereas Keith has only 4 titles - one being a compilation, and 1 a live album (both being somewhat 'rehashing' already circulating material; therefor lower on sales than releasing new/ original material).
But at 5 to 1, MJ has 'the knockout punch' here.

although I'm rather on Keith' side, I have to admit that Wandering Spirit is a much better and much more varied album than Main Offender

Stones are the priority, so there will be some Stones activity in the fall...This is the matter.
