Yesterday is missing from the setlist. I was surprised by this although not unhappy. It's like Satisfaction, big hit but can be put aside at least for one tour.

Last played live in October 2018! There are some other songs which have been in the setlist since forever though. Strangely his most active period of performing live has been since 2002, when he turned 60yo, with no personnel changes to his band the whole time since. Between 1979 & 2002 he only toured twice - 1989/90 & 92/93. I understand John's death put him off touring for a long time.

After John died I thought I’d never get a chance to see any of them. By the way his latest band is my favorite. A perfect bunch in my opinion.

They're all brilliant instrumentalists for sure. All 4 assist with backing vocals, especially drummer Abe Laboriel jr.

It speaks volumes that he's had the same band behind him for 22 years and counting and they've toured nearly every year in that time. Keyboard player Paul Wickens has been with him even longer - since the end of the 80s and doubles up as his musical director.

The 3 most surprising exclusions in the last 5 years to me are:

Yesterday - not playing since 2018
Eleanor Rigby - not played since 2019
The Long And Winding Road - not played since 2016

None of which I'm that sad to lose, but just thought they were every nighters till I went in 2022 and they weren't there. I Saw Her Standing There was also unplayed since 2019 but has come out about 5 times since.

Does anybody know where to see or get the recent One Hand Clapping film on the 'net?

It's on British Sky Arts: 26th December 2024, 9pm - [www.Instagram.com] , [www.TheGuardian.com] .

Can anybody get it ... for IORRers who live in remote parts of the world?

I've come across [drive.google.com]

I got the 3 smaller files. However, for more than 12 hours, all I've got for the large .mov file is the message "Download quota exceeded for this file, so you can't download it at present". Can anybody else try this out and tell me if they can get it downloading?

Worked for me on my newer Macbook. My storage quota is only at 1/5, though.

I got it. This old stones fan hadn't thought to log in to Google first to be able to get download capability. Duh.

Here's an MP4 of One Hand Clapping, smaller file set of 1.53GB. Thanks to the original uploader.

McCartney's having a surprise concert in New York City 6:30 pm tonight at the Bowery Ballroom. The limited tickets sold out almost immediately. Fans are guessing it may be for a Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary taping, or a party for cast and crew members. Some people are guessing that it could also be the first step in promoting his next album, since he's done something similar to this before.

Heard some rumors about a new album this year. I think this confirms it. Wonder if we are looking at US dates this year

America could use some John Lennon energy right now.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that the got back tour is over and that this is the first step in promoting a new album and tour. In my opinion the artwork is suspiciously good for what is basically a one-off small show. It would be a great album cover, and it would be too easy to change that inner graphic to match any other cities landmarks and skyline, which is perfect for tour merchandise of course. Plus I heard McCartney's band got him a commemorative gift thanking him at their most recent show, which makes me think that that tour is finally done.

Either way, I'm anticipating checking out the setlist for tonight and hearing reports from anyone who got in to see it.

Very nice poster, says a lot. I think it's a special gig myself. Hope it's professionally recorded.

Totally agree. Really do think a new single soon and eventually a run of shows

Paul McCartney Electrifies New York’s 575-Capacity Bowery Ballroom With Career-Spanning Surprise Set: Concert Review

“This has been a blast — we’ve looved it,” McCartney said as the band left the stage for good, also speaking for seemingly every person in the room, most of whom had woken up on Tuesday with no idea that they’d be seeing a Paul McCartney concert at what is usually dinnertime.

But as much as it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime moment, we couldn’t help but notice that both of the Max McNown concerts originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bowery have been moved uptown to the Irving Plaza. Hmmmmm…..
