My favourite Paul McCartney bassline:

The only problem for these shows was getting into the Arena....Huge mess both nights...Of course they claim security reasons but the organisation (in general in this Arena) was just aweful.

Saying that, all these problems are soon forgetten once the show starts...Both shows were fantastic.

the other problem was getting out of the arena and to the train station.
It's really strange – it took the Romans some ten minutes to empty the Colosseum and that was 2000 years ago. The Arena La Defense was build during the last decade and they are not able to handle some 40000 people and get them in and out quickly

The location is what it is and has its shortcomings but it doesn't have to be that way, it was nowhere near as bad for the Stones in 2017 or McCartney in 2018. I don't know what idiot came up with the security plan this time around but it was a total failure with massive bottlenecks everywhere, to get in, for the toilets, to get out, with zero staff to direct the crowd. The promoter clearly skimped on that to maximize the bottom line...and given the price they're charging it's scandalous.

Yeah but if you have lions chasing you, you find a way to quicken your pace.

Any rumors about them coming around to the states next year? Or Macca?

Both Roger and Pete have talked about agreeing with Live Nation for something for North America next year. Pete usually doesnt like touring in the summer, plus Roger has dates in the UK in April to early May and in late July. That means maybe any touring won’t be until the fall.

I’ve heard of no rumors on McCartney touring the U.S. next year and a lot of people think he may not until after the release the album he has been working on for the last couple years. You never know with Paul though. He covered the US fairly well in 2022, but it’s been long enough to where a return would sell well. He had a 2020 tour of Europe that was cancelled and is only playing 4 European cities this year, so maybe he does something more extensive there next year.

The new album is overdue, he's likely to focus on it first thing next year before any new touring is scheduled. He said so much in a recent interview, saying he'd been too busy to mix it.

Madrid Show 1 tonight..While prices have fallen with showtime approaching, we haven't seen the same level of late price collapse we saw in Paris, especially Show 1.

As someone posted upthread, prices of the Paris show tickets on the resale websites tanked considerably towards show dates.
However, the Madrid show tickets tonight and tomorrow, not so much — still priced around 150-200 GBP as late as now. I’m intrigued by what makes the difference.

And I wonder what the resale prices will be for the coming UK dates at the end.

I believe in Spain Beatles are bigger, in France it’s The Stones. By the way I didn’t see anyone selling tickets outside. Again, very different to Paris. Organization is excellent here tonight though.

I've just scored excellent tickets for Saturday night in Manchester at face. A bunch of them have suddenly appeared, dotted about all over the arena. Maybe they're insurance returns.

Left over from the RAM sessions. Seemed lightweight at the time but sounds pretty good in retrospect....

I have just seen your post and checked the Ticketmaster website now. Some still left here and there — the cheapest seat: £182.95.

I keep my hands off. A rock concert by a major artist is a rich people’s game now.

That is for the Saturday show BTW. None for Sunday — Did some turn up?

I agree and it's at the limit of what I'm willing to stump up for live music. My seat is at the back of section 113 with an excellent view for the price you state but they were also charging that for seats miles away too, which I wouldn't dream of paying.

Re Sunday, nothing new apart from a handful of grotesquely overpriced platinums. I expect more to drop though at some point

Ta smiling smiley I refuse ever to pay more than face if I can avoid it. They just appeared out the blue so thought it best to pounce on them. There's a Man City Man United game on Sunday which ends just as the doors open for Macca Show 2. The 2 venues are right next to each other so extra glad to get the Saturday show!

Would still like to do O2 show 1 so will keep my eyes peeled for a similar late drop. At least I've definitely got 1 show to look forward to.

Yep, some ticket drop for Manchester Sunday night there.
‘Premium Ticket - AMP Club’ — what is that?

£182.95 again. And not good seats…

There were a couple of Floor Row 22s on for £211 each a short time ago. That's face + resale charges, which is relatively decent.

And surprise, bloody surprise a large sprinkling of face value tix appear for Manchester show 2, including a few to the rear of the front floor sections. The London shows will follow suit in due course.

Makes me wonder just how 'sold out' these gigs are. Classic bait and switch. Create a false impression of an extreme scarcity to fool people into paying over the odds for platinum etc. Then along comes Old Father Time to call their bluff when showtime approaches. The whole event ticketing business is sooo warped.

I notice that face value for the front 3 or 4 rows of the floor is genuinely £600 + fees - ouch eye rolling smiley

Take it away, PaulyWaul.... spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Madrid 2 prices remain high on Viagogo as expected. Was hoping for a cheapy but guess I’ll be happy with one concert last night. By the way it was great. His voice isn’t what it used to be but he was in fantastic form. I’m satisfied.

What time to you think these Manchester shows will end? Is their a curfew of 10:30 like they have at London shows? I’m looking to stay in Liverpool and the last train from Manchester is around 11:30pm.

In Madrid yesterday the show started at 21:00 and ended at 23:30 !

And what a show. He's as good today as he was back in December 2018, which was the last time I saw him. The band is superb. All in all, he still delivers bigtime !
