What happened to the updates? All this bitching about some stupid website on this thread that has nothing to do with that.

That website was the source to the info we got, when twitter called it a day...

The infos I posted are directly from twitter. Not from any website.

His solo on Respectable was really stunning, I wouldn't mind hearing it again!

Indeed, Guillaume!

Just to make all the people here thinking of it - a quote by our member Rutger: "I just listened to that solo on a good set of headphones though and it blew me into the stratosphere. Holy shit... that solo would give any guitarist a run for their money." --> beginning at 01:45 and becoming amazing at 02:05

have fun watching it !!!

This is interesting, given that he's played with them on this tour before--I thought the general belief was that there wouldn't be any repeat guests, but this leaves the door wide open for the rest of the tour now.

Well in fact John Mayer and Gary Clark joined them both twice before. So this is already John's third one but I don't mind at all to be honest. Additionally I would be very surprised if Gary Clark was not going to join the Stones for the 1st Hyde Park show as he is part of the line-up on the same day. Maybe also a second one for Jeff Beck some time?

Very cool. Except I'd like to see them mix it up a little. Mayer can do a 'Rock me Baby', but I can see him kicking ass with Taylor on something like 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking" or anything for that matter. JM is versatile.

...the one who was awestruck being allowed to join the Rolling Stones on stage?

I wouldn't be surprised if Mayer comes to help them out with "I heard it through the Grapevine" tonight that was rehearsed energetically.

Guys that play like him should always return for some more. Fantastic player who made the others play better as well for a very good rendition - and they all seemed to enjoy it.

I agree. It's not showy or gimmicky like some of the female guests. It's just about the music.
I've been a Mayer fan since Continuum and always heard traces of Taylor in his playing, not as an influence - I don't even know if Mayer knows about MT, but in the duel arsenal of funky, bluesy grit and graceful, melodic flourishes. He could really shine with Taylor.

I suppose you wouldn't be awestruck if you were standing next to the greatest frontman in rock history.....I'd like to see him with a guitar next time....or better producing them in the studio.

The first person to record in his own studio was Keith, still waiting to see if we'll get to hear the results.

The Stones official twitter makes no updates at all about setlists. I got live infos and pics from people twitting directly from the show. And shared the infos here on this board so everyone can enjoy it.

Seems like we have a pattern here:

1. Get Off Of My Cloud
2. Variation
3-4. Gimme Shelter and Paint It Black.
5-9. Variation, incl guest performance
10-11. D&G + OMS
12-13 Keith's pee break songs
14-22. War Horse Bonanza + Taylor MR

Only 5-7 have any variation, except the one time they dropped Doom & Gloom.

They should change the name of the tour to the We Don't Care What the Fans Want tour.
I keep reading people trying to justify why they can't play certain songs and to that I say nonsense. They seem to have no trouble playing Emotional Rescue, Doom and Gloom and, One More Shot. Why is it they can play songs that basically suck but they can't get songs like Love in Vain, Sweet Virginia, Rip This Joint and several others that they rehearsed into the set list. I have always gone to multiple shows on every Stones tour since 1972. This time I don't think I will see more than the one show I now have tickets for. I know tickets are expensive but if the set list improves that won't stop me from seeing more shows. Let's hope it does change as they head east. That's all it will take to improve ticket sales!
