There's no point in getting excited over songs they've rehearsed when we all know that they most likely won't be playing any of the interesting songs come show time.

I'd venture that CYHMK is a sure bet, but some others will most likely end up being one-offs during the first few shows and then dropped. That's usually how it goes.

I sure hope since Paul McCartney is rehearsing next door he ends up guesting at one of the LA shows.

Highly doubtful, McCartney's tour starts on the 4th in Brazil.

oh well.

they also did Sympathy after Brown Sugar

dealing with a crisis, took a tylenol PM when I walked in the door fired off a few scattered reports and faded quickly.

I'm inclined to agree with you, I think Woody plays better than Taylor now.

perhaps the stones would oblige the woodyites and taylorites on this tour- and we can once and for all have a bake-off of some kind. both players get to demonstrate their skills on a variety of material. and after the bake-off a show of hands from the audience can determine who's better. i think we've suffered enough lo these many years and it's time for some answers....

Don't forget Sway.

I never liked Sway in live... Because for me, the best version is and will always be the original. One time would be good but not every night!

With Ron Wood on guitar, it's purely normal !

Yeah, and he is not a bandmember anymore, even harder to understand for the 50+ people above who more or less hates everyone with another opinion.

Mick Taylor would revitalize and give new life to the music. They are good now but this is the perfect time late in their career to go out incredible again.Every album Mick T played on was regarded as their very best. His guesting on Midnight Rambler only left many of us wanting him to rejoin them as the music sounded fresh and new again. Besides,Keith wants him back to take the load off of him and Ronnie. They really would be the Worlds Greatest Rock n Roll band again with Mick T. THousands of us feel this way!

Cool! I wonder if Mick T. is with them?

he's the new musical director...they wouldn't dare take a step without him now

Mick Taylor, at this point in his career, is just a name connected to history. Here's a scenario: if Mick Taylor were a nobody and he came out for this coming tour and guested with The Stones, would you guys think that he's an amazing guitar player and a perfect fit for The Stones? Based on what I've seen so far, I would think that he's another guitarist and nothing special.

He refers to the various nursing homes and assisted living facilities in and around Philly if I'm not mistaken...

thumbs up

He is part of early Stones history and nothing more today. I would be just fine without him. One song ok but please not more, they don't need him with that Les Paul sound. I hope Ronnie puts away that Les Paul he used in London and NYC, and picks up the strat for those songs.

This thread cracks me up. I have settled to be happy with whatever they play. My dream setlist would be a gauntlet of rockers. Only Ronnie could keep up!

The Stones were at their peak when Mick T was in the band. Maybe you should go back and listen to the ablums and bootlegs when he was in the band. Their sound was incredible. They would not be asking him to return if he was not an asset to the band. I am hoping to hear him play on many songs.

Well, that's your opinion, in my opinion their peak is the Ronnie era. It's a matter of taste and i prefer the sound of Ronnies guitar. I don't like MT:s guitarsound that much.

While you are entitled to your opinion, the Ron Wood Era is not the peak of the RS. Ever heard of Sticky Fingers and Exile? The 1972 tour? If MT was a medicore guitarist they would not be asking him on their current tour. He adds another dimension that has been missing since his departure.

Love both versions, but prefer the RW era too.
By the way this band has had no peaks...they've had multiple plateaus...and a couple of low areas...
