Morbid and depressing song with look back references and nothing to look forward to, sung with very weak vocals that at least do fit in with the morbid and depressing tone.
Makes Leonard Cohen seem like Speed Metal.
Maybe David has been listening to too much Leonard Cohen.
After 10 years if all someone can come out with is that, then that might make someone morbid and depressed, but it might be done on purpose by Bowie reflecting on the current state of pop music, you never know with Bowie.
The album might be different but from what I've heard it's supposed to be melancholy.
Fault is the wrong word, there is nothing wrong/fault with you. On the contrary, you are quite perfect... and I am very happy to see that you found your dimeQuote

Nothing is wrong with melancholy. The fault is with me - but I won't be buying music, however good, that I don't enjoy (however much I "ought" to).

Bowie's new song "Where Are We Now" is daring, fragile and melancholic and this is what makes the song a beauti.
Cheers

Bowie has been doing this kind of stuff for a long time.
Maybe people missed it.
"Wild is the Wind" is from the 1976 Station to Station album.
Absolutely stunning track.
If you want to go back further there's The Bewlay Brothers off Hunky Dory (god what was that song about?) - equally stunning.
Slip Away from Heathen - stunning.
The Loneliest Guy from Reality - Stunning (although you might want to slit your throat afterwards).
There's always a time to party and a time to reflect - Bowie does both thankfully.
Also The Motel on 1.Outside, Always Crashing in the Same Car- Low...yup lots of haunting stuff from The Thin White Duke. And a recent interview with Tony Visconti is that the album has lots of rock on it, and he was quite surprised that Bowie chose this as the first single. It is a statement. About his life, his past, and getting old. BEAUTIFUL!Quote

Yeah, thread might have been called ""Bowie's Front" or "Bowie's 2 headed video" or maybe "Bowie's Face in the crowd of two"... or something.Quote

Five pages already and not a word about his back.

It's a typo.
It's supposed to say Bowie's Bach.
