you know..Jagger makes all the sense in the world...he does not want to let the Stones drop...if it wasn't for him, the rest of them would be doing whatever..Keith would be speaking at libraries...Charlie would be playing brushes with piano trios..Ronnie would be on a book/art tour..
but Mick wants to try another album. bless him

Keith and Ronnie clearly live in worlds of their own...so unaware of the rest of us "seat-fillers" aka potential ticket buyers.
We know that Jane Rose is a hard-working woman but apparently doesn't have the guts to sit Keith down and get real with him.
Wish ProudMary could sit down with them and ask a few tough questions.

the mag is breaking some news to be sure - [www.rollingstone.com]
remember when I posted that the tour was delayed a year because of LIFE - the bu--sh--t that it caused? It is confirmed here - another reason for me to hate that silly book

My guess is that they weren't so much "songs" as riffs and rough ideas - sort of like most of "Main Offender". What the hell happened to him sitting down and actually writing a song? You know, like "Ruby Tuesday" or "Coming Down Again"? It has words, it has a chorus, it has a bridge. Novel idea, he should take a look at trying it again.

Great article, thanx for posting!
I agree that Keith comes out as the dork in there. Not the first time either.
The songwriting and recording department seems pretty much shut down, which is kind of sad, especially when you look at what Bob Dylan and others their age are putting out.
There's no way I'm going to any of those concerts (too far away, too expensive, not good enough), but I'd be very happy if Mick T and Bill came out on stage with them. That would be a beautiful gesture.

I bet Ronnie has absolutely no idea how much they have spent so long or what on earth they are planning to spend.
Who is managing this with Mick? Prince Rupert is long gone....

I can not agree. "Bob Dylan and others their age are putting out" basically albums of covers. Dylan has his great musicians who play basic blues and he writes beautiful lyrics of course but he can't sing to safe his life
No one is as alive and full-blooded as Jagger on D&G ot Some Girls outtakes

You have a point there. I realise my statement wasn't really waterproof. I was mostly going by what others are saying, since I'm no big fan of Dylan or Springsteen. As pointed out in another thread recently, those guys are solo artists and don't need no songwriting collab to begin with. But still -- they are more productive and get good reviews, something the Stones haven't really been for real since '81. But that's another subject.

Jagger is a real MASTER.
How could he put up with all the excesses of his band mates is unbelievable

How does renting an empty warehouse space and hiring some french dudes to move equipment into it cost a million dollars? A million dollars is how much it cost to record Chinese Democracy.

Since Richards isn't completely sober, Wood is inclined to keep an eye on him. "I'm not going to preach to him," he says. "I will step in if I see any danger."
So Ronnie has taken it upon himself to be Keith's AA sponsor.
What could go right?
