i have the same reflection. New Stones Songs are typical Mick solos. Anyway this one is ok (not great just ok)

Whoa wait...the middle guitar solo is completely different on the iTunes version. There is no breakdown---the drums go straight through with no break. The Youtube clip seems more like a "remix" version than what's on "GRR"

Great song, love it!!!!!
But why releasing it as a Rolling Stones song?
Obviously a Jagger solo song, no sign of Charlie & Keith.
Guitars by Jagger, maybe some Ronnie.

LIKE!

Great song, Mick's voice is fantastic I think. And really loves Ronnie's guitar style on this track!

The album version at iTunes is MUCH better, with louder guitars and Charlie on drums.

Yeah well ok time to quit then. This is pure crap. Sorry but it is. Maybe they have more new songs, I hope so because this is just pointless. Sounds like some early 90s local retro wanna-be band with a catchy but empty vowel refrain. Doom and Gloom? eye rolling smiley

Liked it from the very first second ... guys, that's a new Stones song!!! And it's not 1972, it's 2012!!!

According to Mick it's 1991.

Could have been a cut on New York Dolls last album from 2005 or thereabouts

A million times better than Don't Stop. It's got some changes and some good grind-along-to-the beat feel about it. Agree with others, some ZZ Top/You Got Me Rocking feel to it. It's very respectable and it may be a song that grows on you. Mick Jagger/Don Was not withstanding, it's still got the Stones name on it! It still sounds like the Stones!

2012? The Rolling Stones in 2012? I remember my friend saying in 1973 that they would only last a few more years.

We can all dream it's the fall of 1969 again.... just for a second.

thanks for any help

Great song, but the sound(mix) reminds me too much of Don't Stop and the other 3 Forty Licks Paris recorded songs. I don't like the thin sound of the guitars and the drums. It's not powerful. Voodoo and Bridges are way better produced and each instrument sound like they are actually there!

OH, I thought you meant quit listening to the band. You might consider that.

of course you have to buy like myself the itunes song and not listen to crap version.
I am not sure it is a Jagger style song. It rocks and has some loud guitars.

The trick is to find software that extracts the MP3 from the .flv without resampling and changing the bit rate. Some searching and you should be able to find some freebie software that does that.

the current convention in pop music is to release an official lyrics video,
followed later on by the video video

for what its worth, its the best lyrics video i've yet seen, and there's been
some good ones recently

and to repeat myself, anyone? Is it "bowing to the rich and you worry
about the poor"? Its the only place the words drop out of the lyrics video
without the words being obvious.

Well, gave it 3 listens, enough to know that I never want to hear it again.... But everyone here, except 5% of us dissenters, seem to to have their heads in the clouds about it like it's the greatest thing they've ever or could've done. Best since 1969? It's 1972 again? If you like overproduced Jagger solo filler-type Fauxlling Stones, I suppose it can be whatever year you wish for.... but let's see what people think next year, when the sudden euphoric high over new product and activity has subsided...

It is nearly exactly what I expected, but it is also better than I expected.

They musically have nothing to say though and it shows. They just keep playing within their own musical cul-de-sac.

Still, I guess there's nothing wrong with just making music for the sheer love and enjoyment of it.

Told ya winking smiley

BTW, I'm almost certain that the "solo" is played by Mick. Same playing style as the licks on some of the songs on ABB.

The licks in between Mick's singing is Ronnie, though.
