It as exactly as DandelionPowderman says, and besides there is a sticky thread to discuss these things.

I acknowledge what you guys are saying, but I wonder if we could be falling for one of the biggest ones in the history of the Stones. Time will tell. I'll stand corrected if it all turns out OK. eye rolling smiley

The times have changed. It used to be that a cover of a record meant something for the musicians so they'll put some effort and soul in the conception of it. Nowadays instead of an artist designing the cover, the" Company" hands the task to the fuvking "sales Department". If the face of a Gorilla or even a picture of steaming pile of shit may help sale more records, they'll go with it. That's all.

Yeah I thought for days that the whole thing was a big hilarious joke set to scare and freak out a lot of people before revealing the "real" cover. It's starting to dawn on me that this actually is for real. Are they gonna release that cover? Unbelievable.
It's gonna be interesting to read the next interview. I wanna know how they're thinking.

a guy walks into the zoo when he sees a gorilla. the gorilla whispers "psst come closer". the guy, all surprised, closes in a step. "another step closer" the gorilla says. when the guy was finally against the fence bars, the gorilla whispers; "how did you escape?"

This does have some class, artistically - the gorilla doesn´t (not my taste, sorry to the artist...)

Just my opinion.

Don't know if it's in another thread; thought it was appropriate here...

From the new RS mag, a small update on the two new songs:

"On August 19th, the Rolling Stones gathered at Paris' Guillaume Tell Studio and began rehearsing "One More Shot" a newly written song by Keith Richards with one of his signature slashing open-G riffs and Mick Jagger howling "one more shot/that's all I got" "It's got all this @#$%& power," says producer Don Was. "Everyone was smiling. You can recognize it's the Rolling Stones from a mile away."

That tune, plus "Gloom and Doom" a political rocker written by Jagger are the first new Stones songs since 2005's "A Bigger Bang".....

THAT gorilla is going to look mighty fine on a T-shirt. "Mighty Stones Fine", that is. The gorilla is way way way cooler than that silly dragon.

.....cooler on a T-shirt ????.......I wouldn`t wear that T-shirt, because I´ve got some taste......(but taste is just individual)

and concerning the dragon, it has nothing to do with coooolness - this dragon has much more art in it, like many other stones covers have, in contrary to others......

and yes: it´s not all about music, it´s much more than that...the Rolling Stones are a total art of work......and therefore controversially discussed!

For a five year old. Are you a five year old MightyTrollin? Mentally you are.

You think the gorilla is cool and not the dragon - now we ALL know what kind of "fan" you are. A real Stones fan knows the difference - and you are not a real Stones fan, just a poseur. You can go away now. You've over-proven your point, whatever it is, and to use something you ignorantly said recently, you obviously didn't get "the memo":

NOBODY CARES.
