Quoting puppets now! :-)
We are really in a tizzy, huh?

On SNL, I'm saying expect nothing (except Mick!) and if it happens great.
I do like the moving van info.

Just one little hint, Mick, one little hint! That's all I am asking for!

One little hint!? Sheesh! Mick's laid out the whole freaking thing already!
The SNL Stones appearance and tour announcement. The festivals. Even
what two songs the Stones will be playing on SNL. Doesn't anybody besides me ever
listen to what Mick is saying, with his actions, and not just his lying-ass words?
please provide quotes from Mick stating everything that you just said.

HA! Be prepared for a spooky/weird response here

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them -
that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally
forward in whatever way they like.

Lao Tzu

1) The fun is about to start, so this is likely my last major statement
for a while. Historically I don't work much when the Stones are touring.
That would be like the clown act working when the great high wire artists are
doing their thing. When the Stones are doing shows, my greatest joy is to
read what y'all write after seeing them. Remember: Details, people, details!

2) I will probably still "cock a doodle doo" once in a while though, when
something I have written earlier turns out to be true.

3) Will I crow because I am an egomaniac? I guess so, but you must admit this:
I am a very unusual type of egomaniac. Nobody on IORR knows who I am, nobody
on the internet knows who I am. So nobody can buy me a beer, or tell me
how great I am, even if I am sitting there next to you at a gathering of Stones
fans. Also, nobody in my personal life knows what I do on the internet as
a Stones fan, that I have this rev/revvy thing going on. Not even any of my
ex-wives, not even my current closest friends: "Reba" and "RiRi". So if its
egomania, its a very pure kind. It doesn't pollute anyone else's life.
(No, I haven't yet manuevered Reba and RiRi into bed together with me,
but I am working on it. Less as an ego boost, more as an energy conservation
measure.)

4) Think of me this way: I am the stoner substitute teacher in your
World History class trying to teach you little dickheads something about Plato.
(Mick is Plato in this scenario). So pipe down and listen up. Or at least
stop throwing erasers at the back of my head!

5) These magic tricks of "prediction" I sometimes do are just to bring
focus to my important work concerning the lyrics and conceptual art of
the Rolling Stones. Obviously, when it comes to their music, y'all hardly
need my input, except maybe a little on the latter-day and solo stuff.

6) I've mentioned previously how proud I am of the ONE time in 50 years that
Mick was wrong and I was right (plenty of times when he proved right and I
proved wrong). I said it was a huge mistake not to have made the Enigma movie
about the real Alan Turing (the gay guy who defeated @#$%& and then was
hounded to death for being gay) instead of a lame Kate Winslet romance.
ONE TIME in fifty years I was right and Mick was wrong. And yet every one
of you I bet out there in IORR-land can easily think of a hundred times
you were "right" and Mick was "wrong". LOL! And yet somehow I am the one who
is to supposed to have the ego problem.

7) This is another unusual thing about my "egomania". I have readily and
consistently acknowledged that I have absolutely NOTHING to offer of my own.
My only value is as Mick's best student.

8) Whenever Mick is asked what he would do if he wasn't a rock star, he
always answers "teacher". This is a good joke on his part because that is
what he has always been, one of the greatest Teachers the world has ever
known. "You need some guiding, baby. I can provide it, baby." Mick even
continued with this joke yesterday, with Kristen Wiig expressing her gratitude
for Mick teaching her about music and drugs and sex.

9) The other great joke Mick made yesterday was that his true identity was that
of "Australian-based" "performance artist" "Shane Kendall". I am Australian-
based. And have I not earned the title of "internet performance artist"?
And although I am not "Shane Kendall" there are those who would say both Shane
and I are X-Files-type nutjobs...

[alien-ufo-community.ning.com]

10) But honestly, how great a Teacher can Mick be if he has only one decent
student, me, after almost 50 years of trying? And really, how great a substitute
teacher can I be if I have zero decent students after almost 20 years of trying.
As usual, Lao Tzu has the answer:

"The sage does not hoard. The more he helps others, the more he benefits himself,
The more he gives to others, the more he gets himself. The Way of Heaven
does one good but never does one harm. The Way of the sage is to act."

11) In the only known photograph of me on the net, Mick points me out, just
as he did in the SNL "australian" promo yesterday, just as did in his song
"Back of My Hand". I mean, SOMEBODY has got to be Mick's best student.
Why not me? I've worked very hard at it, humbling myself, for fifty years.
Have you?

2. Perhaps you should 'get a life'.

3. As a Buddhist/Taoist I find it confusing that you quote the great Lao Tzu. Do you think you have 81 verses of instruction for us in order for us to find our Tao (path in life)? Well.....you DON'T!

4. This kind of crap is exhausting, silly, puerile, self-absorbed, ego-filled (how would Lao Tzu react to that?) and mind-numbing.

Enough of the superrevvy spectacle; it's tragic enough watching someone (especially a fellow stones' fan) completely fall apart online in the course of a few days in a bout of untreated mania or something. I suggest he immerses himself into the true master of philosophical Taoism, Chuang Tzu: "Those who know, do not speak of it (the Tao), those who speak of it, do not know."

So back to the topic at hand, SNL. Why do folks think Jeff brought his bassist Tal along to NYC? If Jeff and Mick were only going to play one song together (either with the house band or the Foos), you don't need an awesome 'fusion' bassist to play the type of song Mick would sing, the house SNL bassist could do that. So it really looks like 3 songs: AF, FF and Mick w/ Jeff. Any thoughts on Jeff/Tal and SNL, (not superrevvy)?

Being a big Foo Fighters fan and owning every album, I'm having a hard time locating all of these 70's rock cliche's you speak of. Please help me out with a list. And since you claim they're guilty of EVERY cliche, I expect the list to be quite lengthy.

2. I think the Jeff Beck info was posted at Shidoobee a few days ago.

GOD i HATE The FOO FIGHTERS...JOKE ROCK...every 70's rock cliche' in the book thrown into a blender and spat out with a video of that jackass in drag or acting like an idiot...

figures Sir Mick would buddy up to them...

yeesh...just kill it off if this is all they can muster...

Being a big Foo Fighters fan and owning every album, I'm having a hard time locating all of these 70's rock cliche's you speak of. Please help me out with a list. And since you claim they're guilty of EVERY cliche, I expect the list to be quite lengthy.

Sadly and pathetically...I had to sit through this jackasses shows when he was in Scream...playing drums...before Cobain hired him...to play drums...where he should stay...and keep his mouth shut...he is joke rock exemplified...and looks like a more retarded version of that guy from Butthole Surfers...his jokes aren't funny and his Milton Berle impressions are even worse...he jumps at every chance to show his dumb face whether it is relevant or not...because he is riding off of that Nirvana wave...and can...sorry you like that stuff..."Nimrod"...it wasn't meant as a person stab at you...but the guy and his music suck...

Indeed, CE. However, even as Zen/Buddhist/Taoists, we still are allowed to be mischievous, dickish or short-tempered with people or ourselves, as long as we aren't 'attached' to that feeling or any outcome. If a cyclist runs over our foot, you can still yell "Ow, F&^% You!" and let it go. No need to suppress our natural feelings, becoming a dried up or 'stone' buddha. disclaimer: my post was written with just as much annoyance as compassion, LOL!

Thanks, I'll go hunt down that Beck info. I'm really looking forward to the Mick/Jeff number and a few good skits for Mick this Saturday. If they give him some cool skits and he nails them, it might be the best publicity he could generate for the upcoming year.

I'd say Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters are more "rock and roll" than the Stones have been for the past 25 years. And he shows his "dumb face" becuase he's asked to show his "dumb face".

I have abandon any hope for the RS. Just going to enjoy MJ. But, would be cool to see a walk on hug from KR. I think after the book, he owes him that, come on Keith, man up.

All of this crap over a silly tv show? Wow. I'm really impressed. I've lost track of how many pages the stupid SuperHeavy thread has but as I recall it was 53. This one could top that one if the stupidity continues... spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Actually goodbye is too good a word, so I'll just say far-le-well.
