You said it sounds very much like the vegas era Sympathy. The big difference is in 75 there were 2 guitars driving the song whereas the 'vegas' version the emphasis is on Chuck Leavell and the backing singers.

It sounds pretty great to my ears. I've really been happy with all three releases.
Also, I think you're doing it wrong if you have to "look" at waveforms to "see" if the music is brickwalled and then decide you don't like it.

Play the FLAC files with vlc player (which is free). Open the pre-amp tool of vlc and move the cursor down to whatever figure you find necessary (for me it's minus 7 d. I guarantee this trick will greatly attenuate the hot mastering.

I could name 8 shows from 75 that are hotter than this one but hey it's time for rejoicing not bitching.
Still... >< the nice SB shows what the great Millard recording hinted at : this July 13 show was a up-and-down affair.
Some songs were superbly performed others not so much. The "bad" songs verge on "boring" (imo). "Its Only Rock N Roll" or "Dice" clearly lack spark.
