one more time....Jagger was out of breath...66/67...also..and it was magic!
I was worried about micks voice..for some years...e ven the studio...recordings...were weak....his last great moments were on abb...he was good on that album...but i dont hear the band...as a unit
i also really liked his solo output
god gave me.......that would have been a great single for tha stones
Hide away......so underrated....awesome tune
Jaggers latest performance...made my bad heart beating again
Why shouldnt they sing together like the E brothers! I always missed Keiths voice...that rough sound from 78/81....and the fab N bar tour....i want to hear it again!
And About Mr Beck....he was the eye of the sparrow in 1976
it was a long time ago....i saw mick so lively

Now I´m really confused, lol, i hope you are being sarcastic here.
Nope, I'm not being sarcastic at all

"Richards’s currently recording solo tracks with Steve Jordan for an upcoming album. Here's hoping he'll promote it by touring theaters, doing exactly what he did last night – singing center-stage, sitting while playing country blues and plugging in when he feels like it – especially if the Stones don't tour immediately".

Well, I don´t care about that. But I hope you were sarcastic about the "author of all Stones songs" winking smiley

I really don't get the comments dissing Keith's skill now. Keith's understated playing has just become more understated in his old age. Look how he lets "space" between the music talk. That concept might be hard for some to grasp, but that is so much the essence of who KR is as a musician anyway. I think his phrasing at the Sumlin gig was great. Keith lets his music fly when his hands are not even on the fretboard. He's always gotten off on that. So if you're looking for something different, you're gonna be real disappointed from here on out.

If I get what you're saying, what we need to do is increase the 'space between the music' with KR. I guess that's kind of what we've had over the last 5 years...LOTS of space between the music!

mercy - you keep misreading this. the article you're quoting doesn't say Keith is planning to tour.
it says the author hopes Keith will tour if the Stones don't.
you see the difference, right?

Re: Mick Being out of breath, I think this is much ado about nothing. At a stone's concert, Mick Keeps the energy level and volume of his voice up in between songs and says "How you doing tonight? Feeling Goood???". Here he's playing in a relatively small room with the President. Its probably a pretty sober event. And he's also there to talk about the blues. He needs to take it way down after each song if he's gunna talk. In that situation there's not enough time for your breathing to adjust.

I think your point is valid...there was high pressure on MJ, considering the audience, he's 68, and he's jumpin' around like a madman and singing and then needs to speak coherently 2 seconds after the song is over.

I'd bet NONE of us on this board could have performed better (obviously not the vocal, the aerobic recovery and 'banter') in those circumstances.

that was the strangest performance i've ever seen.i thought mick would play a couple of sort of laid back blues numbers, talk a bit about the music and then on to cocktail hour.
instead he brings friggin jeff beck with him and blows the doors off the place.

if you've never seen jeff up close believe me the president and first lady went to bed with their ears ringing that night.
mick was great as usual.a perfectly rehearsed band, his moves and delivery all running like a rolex.everyone needs to stop worrying about him being out of breath, mick trains for months before a tour.

I'd like to see Jagger in a gig with a good guitar player with whom he has a normal, harmonious relationship

LOL, and who would that be ?

What is your irony about exactly? Why - LOL?
I've read an interview with Jagger recently - somebody posted it here on this board - and Mick says it is impossible to be on stage and make music with someone you do not have a harmonious relationship.
Who could be that guitar player - dunno the choice is great, I think many would like to play with Jagger. But why not to start with Beck, they did good at WH

I think I clearly said - after the Stones anniversary in whatever form this anniversary will take place. So you have no reason to feel offended by my disrespect and antipathy to Richards (I know, you see it in all my posts)

Jaggers second solo album "Primadonna Crap"..eh sorry Primitive Cool with Jeff Becky already speaks for itself. - Let´s Work, huh ? - Now that´s another Gimme Shelter, right ??

Instead of Jerky Becky - I would like to see Brenda Jagger on stage with a dirty old white blues man who wrote "Gimme Shelter" and who can still kick Micks ass, instead of having some slick metal hard rock guitars like Biff Jeck who already has done one crappy album with him. He needs Keef -real songwriter to work with. You have no reason to feel offended by my disrespect and antipathy to Keef bashers. For Keith is the guy who wrote Satisfaction, Gimme Shelter and more than half of the greatest rock roll songs of all time. I mean what has Jeff Becky written - oh yeah crap, that´s it.

Make that 2 albums...

I loved both Mick's and Keith's performances.
Is it still possible on this board to like Keith without bashing Mick ?

I think there is more to this story than just the author's hopes, but we'll see what happens in the near future. In any case, I hope that after these forced celebrations of what is long gone, Mick and KR each go their own ways. And why not?
Richards wants - as correctly noted by the RS journalist - to sing center-stage and Mick needs a sane and professionally adequate guitar player.

Hey, you're teaching at the University ot smth. like this, right? I like it when you explain to me how to understand the studied text))
I believe -as well as a respected journalist from the RS - that Richards truly enjoys to be in the center of the stage and do what he wants. And he deserves it as much as Mick deserves to be free from Keith Richards.
At this stage of their lives the Rolling Stones really stifle creativity in them. They only hold together by paranoid reluctance of their fans to leave the past.

I understand that you agree with my second conclusion. Great!

I do not want to seem impolite - you're a nice guy - but are you sure that you understand the meaning of the abbreviation LOL?
There are too many of your post consisting exclusively from those three letters. Come on, tell us what you really think about the discussed issues, not about other people's posts.
And if you have nothing to say - better to keep silent, but do not print for the hundredth time LOL

i think what this promo shows is that the video editing and sound will indeed be
an improvement over what we got from the live stream. the only worry is
the one-hour length. what gets left out is gonna be sad.
