Answer: Charlie, Ronnie, Bill, Keith and Mick!

Just imagine what 2012 could be like....

Mick must be visiting Terry Reid, who I believe lives out that way.

Wow. He finally sounds as damaged as the other Stones. I wonder what his real problem is? Why he won't take control of his health and use his gifts wisely?

looks like he might have been trying out the strat in the 2nd vid, and then borrowed or bought it by the evening's gig in video 1. Pretty good stuff, playing slide on an unfamiliar (non-adjusted action?) strat and having to sing w/o planning to, or so it seems. He's growing the hair, he's mixing it up on HTW, visiting/jamming. good sign. Thanks for posting, OpenG!

Thanks for posting Alan. I heard the Vintage icons were good guitars for the money but have never had a chance to try.

I'm sorry but MT is just not quite right...this kind of playing adds nothing to what sober Ronnie gives, and that is REALLY hard for me to admit.

Ok, I like MT and I watched all the clips but I have to agree that Ronnie when he is sober and on target is, perhaps, one of the top five guitar players ever.

His work on Can't You Hear Me Knocking on the Licks tour and even studio jams & sound checks when everyone is going at 50 percent is better than these clips combined.

When Mick Taylor is feeling good and "on target", I would say he's the second best guitarist ever, after Hendrix. His work with Mayall during the 1982 reunion tour is unmatched by any guitarist to my ears.

I like a lot of Ronnie's stuff and own all of his records, but I have never heard him play a long and consistently beautiful solo. Ever.

I will say this. It would be possible for Ron Wood to make the number 5 spot on a Rolling Stone Magazine list. Mick Taylor would almost certainly never make their top 100 list.

Interesting thoughts...two different players to be respected for their own contributions...MT needs to be on any top 100 list. But then even Maggie May might be worthy of a top 100 gloss...

What I meant by REALLY hard to admit wasn't the key strokes but accepting that MT has had his day. It's not necessarily an age thing, but how he's evolved.

Check out any vid of John Jorgenson, MT's contemporary. JJ continues to evolve, technically and dramatically, way beyond his tenure with Elton, etc.

So it's not an age thing. MT just seems to have lost most of his awareness of the fretboard and expression, in about 10 years' time.
