Michael Dorf announced the first artists confirmed to play a special March 13 tribute concert at Carnegie Hall, celebrating the music of The Rolling Stones and the 40th Anniversary of the release of their iconic collection Hot Rocks 1964-1971. The initial, star-studded lineup includes Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle, Glen Hansard, Rich Robinson (Black Crowes), Carolina Chocolate Drops and The Mountain Goats, with more to be announced soon. The concert will feature 21 artists playing the 21 songs from the album and takes place 48 years after the Rolling Stones made their 1964 Carnegie Hall debut. Click here for tickets.
The concert marks the eighth installment of Dorf's annual series which raises crucially needed funds for music education programs for underprivileged youth and boasts contributions of over $600,000 to date.

Previous sold-out Carnegie concerts presented by Dorf have honored the music of such timeless artists as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, R.E.M., Neil Young, and The Who. Each year 100% of the net proceeds from the concert are given to music education non-profits: The American Symphony Orchestra Music Notes, Church Street School of Music, Young Audiences, Music Unites, The Pinwheel Project, and FIKS (Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools). This year, three new beneficiaries have been added: The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, Midori and Friends, and The Center for Arts Education.
