Was there really any doubt that the Stones were going to turn their back on the billion dollar money maker that a 50th anniversary will bring them? 2012 will easily be the biggest Stones year since their massive "comeback"in 1989 with the Steel Wheels album and tour.
By this time next year even we will be tired of hearing about the Rolling Stones.

NOTHING would be better than if Mick Jagger did NOT turn up for this
jam session. Nothing would give this 50th thing more credibility than
for Jagger's forward-looking mentality to be locked out while this collective
of rearward-looking musicians, including Taylor and Wyman, cook up some
fresh stew. Jagger should wait til the others are more or less done before
tacking on his vocals. This particular album must be led by the musicians,
not the frontman, or else just forget about it.

Mick should at the very least play harp. Do you really think he's gonna make the next Stones album sound like Superheavy ?

For better of worse, Mick has been the driving force since Steel Wheels.......................................I just can't see him backing off now.
The guitar players can make wonderful grooves, jams etc. but whos gonna turn them into finished songs ?
I can just imagine Ronnie and MT asking Keith what he has........BLANK STARES all around !

Their last 3 albums have been almost as long as Exile. I'd rather have 10 quality tracks over 40 mins. Why does everyone want to fill cds with "filler" ?

I agree. ABB would have been much better trimmed to ten songs.

Almost any time tracks are nominated in these threads to be cut off, with the apparent ambition to «improve» an album, numbers I fancy, tend to be among them. Consequently, I disagree.
Apart from that, I take the opposite view, I am so pleased and thankful for any track in addition I can obtain that this wonderful band finds good enough and suited.

It is nonsense. Jagger and Richards write the lyrics and melodies of all the Stones songs. Without this collaboration, there would be no Stones. I have taken a lot of trash from people on this message board, and I can dish it out too. That is about the most stupid thing I have ever read.
