Funny you'd say that you watched what Mick was eating; I had a similar experience In Montreal at the Westin Hotel Restaurant/bar and Mick loves pasta too! Evian water, french bread, pasta with red sauce, oh and an omelette on the side...LOL...just kidding about the omelette. Make that 60 now, Gazza!! I agree, I forgot what the original topic was but this is fun!

I have seen Mick knock some celeb liberal causes in the past. He mocked the no Nuke movement and concert. Said it was contrieved and it was just some singers wanting it to be the 60s again.

He knocked the Sun City song and movement. Said it wasn’t so black and white, and the movement would change nothing. The song Rock and a Hard Place was written about it. He knocked the Bush administration, but so did a lot of right wingers.

He was very Pro War nationalistic during the Falklands War. I think he is an issues guy. He is not one of the silly liberal celebs who jump on every cause, just because they are supposed to be liberal, so they have to back liberal causes, whether it’s a joke of not

.....soft boiled eggs are best eaten using a little plastic spoon invented by a farmer in Gstaad. The reason being that the plastic spoon does not oxidize as does a silver spoon when the metal hits the warmed egg and leaves a black metallic stain on the egg white.

Bon apetite.

I can't think of one conservative value expressed in Lennon's music. Not one. Anybody? Just Gimme Some Truth.

Love to hear a conservative pol cite any line from Imagine. Certain political death.

This is getting too political, not a good thing for this board, so I won't discuss this. That being said, there is the link to an interesting article, and if you do the research, other studies come to the same conclusion, (just the facts) then continue this discussion on another board.

Elvis Costello's song THE OTHER SIDE OF SUMMER has the line, "Was it a millionaire who said, `Imagine no possessions'?"

Costello told the NY Times, "John Lennon wrote some wonderful songs, but IMAGINE, which has been so sanctified, was one of his worst. He didn't think it all the way through."

Winston Churchill once said:

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

Lennon changed his politics as he grew up and matured.

Prove what. Which one? I hate being challenged on stuff like this. I know he said it, and i don't say things that are not true. So you can challenge me, and someone will come along and find the articles and prove me correct. This has happend to me numerous times on numerous subjects online.. If you want to bet about it, then i will take the time to try and find what i already know is a fact.

He never said this.

"Imagine", duh, would be the ultimate No-bama song. It is all about SOCIALISM - which we do not want here. (Imagine if Lennon gave away all his money -- oh, no, that would not happen)
