Don't know much about her. Is she a class act like the others?

EddieBywordYeah, prat(t) is derived from 'someone who prattles on nonsensically'....ie.."Oh, don't listen to him, he's a prat....I suppose it could be equated with "Oh, he's a (stupid)C @#$%& but definitely not used in place of C @#$%& in the context of a chastisement towards a really horrible or merciless person which is the strongest version....Quote

Pippa is actually slang for sexual intercourse in Swedish. It's a milder version of f**k (kn**la in Swedish).
That's good to know. I knew an American Army Sergeant from Ohio in Germany and his surname was Pratt. His wife was English and they were friends with the British Army's Liaison officers stationed at an American Army base. It happened that Pratt was British slang for what is called in North America a, forgive me, @#$%&. Rhymes with hunt and begins with a C. Example: "She's a right Pratt!"
Whenever Sergeant Pratt telephoned the British Army's Liaison Office the announcement would go over the intercom: "Sergeant Pratt on line one!" Or "Sergeant @#$%& on line one!" Much to the amusement of the Brits.
One would get arrested in Britain today for saying that, well, maybe, anyway. If an arrest were to be made I'd like to think that the arresting officer would be Monty Python's Constable Clitoris!
PC gone mad.
'Pratt' isnt as strong an insult as 'the c-word'. To call someone a 'prat' is equivalent to saying they're an 'idiot' and it certainly isn't even regarded as a swearword.
Arrested? Well, hardly - but we have gone PC-mad. That's for sure.
Not saying it's not an unfortunate surname to have...I guess it would be the same as someone phoning up and saying "Sgt. Dumbass here".....I'm sure that would be worth a few laughs....of course if it was really a while ago ...well the nuance with some words undoubtably changes over years. Slightly OT, in Britain until Queen Victoria came to the throne and demanded they were all renamed if you wanted to hire a girl........ for a bit of "How's your father" you would go down c%&$grope street to find one.......true.....Quote

I guess I was misinformed but the British Officers in Heidelberg found it quite hilarious every time they heard 'Sergeant Pratt is on the phone!'
The PC madness is here to but perhaps worse in Canada.

A week? I thought it was last night...have I missed something?
I don't understand how you people can turn a thread about Kate Middleton into a thread about Bin LAden. Espicially after BV has asked everybody to drop it.Quote
