Three Concerts In One For 2012 Tour!
Posted by: thewatchman ()

How about this for an idea for the 50th anniversary Fabulous Fifty Farewell Tour?

Have three mini concerts in one representing three different eras.

#1. Stones open concert dressed in suits and ties with line up consisting only of four of five original members doing six or seven songs from the sixties.

#2. After brief break and clothes change (to late sixties early seventies attire) they return to stage joined by Mick Taylor and do six or seven Exile period songs including Plundered My Soul.

#3. After another brief intermission they return to stage with all members and back up musicians and do six or seven brand new songs from their new album.

What do ya think, mates?

i'm sure the stones would love to parody themselves. maybe keith richards can act like a heroin addict again... that would be so awesome, right?
thewatchman, you've been reading too much from the colonial playbook.

What I think is that there's long been an act that does that, the Counterfeit Stones .... Nick Dagger and his mob.

What the real ones choose to do from hereon (if anything), well that's the key question, is it not ?

[ I want to shout, but I can hardly speak ]

they don't need a ton of wardrobe changes but it would be cool if they did an acoustic set and a set of just 60's and early 70's tunes without the huge array of backup musicians.

here's the three-fer i'm looking for:

1) stop the madness and officially retire already, so that they might....

2) open the vaults and let the little time many of us old-timer fans have left on this planet be used to hear some old forgotten nuggets, and then....

3) I can die in peace

Five original members, that'd be great, Keith, Mick, Bill, Charlie & Brian or Stu, in whatever state they're now. Now that'd be a show.

Ouch, another cheap shot at colonial!

So what then? More stadium shows with the same old worn out warhorses?

Yes, that's what we want, really - all warhorses in stadiums.

That wasn't a cheap shot AT colonial.

Smaller venues, sitting back on chairs, playing acoustic blues. They could do that until they are in their 80's.

They could do that at home. But they don't.

Thewatchman is taking up for Colonial's idiotic thread title now?

Might wanna try opening your mind to some new possibilities, mate, and what's with the beating up of another mate (Colonial) on the list here all about? I know a heart of gold when I see it, and I also recognize passion for the Rolling Stones, and Colonial has both. I also, recognize the tactics of a bully.

Mick keeps himself in wonderful shape for a man of his age, but even he would look ridiculous in his velvet jump suit now. And Charlie in the ruffly shirt again? No, no, no....

Wardrobe changes like that are for Cher.

New possibilities? I don't do threads that are prattle. Heart of gold or passion or whatever, jibberish is jibberish.

And yes, it is having fun with Colonial. You want to see what a bully is check out some of Brue's posts. I ain't a bully. Wooly bully either.
