Tour? Here's what you'll get
Date: February 28, 2011 09:20

Ok, forgive me, I hardly ever post. But another tour? Here's what you'll get.
More "underground guitar" from Blondie, since Keith will be too sloppy and Ronnie to drunk. More backing vocals from Lisa, and possibly vocal tracks used to hide Mick's own loss of vocal ability. Same old warhorses, 2 or more opening acts since this will be "the final tour". Oh and ticket prices$$$$$. So let's just remember the good times and move on.

What are exactly the memorable licks Blondie keep playing on stage? Hard to answer, I guess. That's because he mainly plays acoustic, and only fills in in a very subtle way on electric.

Exactly my point. He's NOT ONSTAGE. He's underneath it.

No worries Rock, the 21st Century Lad is obviously unfamiliar with the "easy Island Living" found in New Caledonia.... obviously needs to study his atlas a bit more. We'll forgive him this time...

"Tour? Here's what you'll get..." A bunch of cynical sniping about every aspect of the tour that doesn't live up the unreachable bar that so many set for the modern Stones. What I will get if I get to see them again? A gigantic thrill that reminds me of being a kid again, and plants a perma grin on my face for the next two hours. And oh yeah, lots of fun dancing!

Please remind me who "Blondie" is ? I've been "STONED" since "Love You Live" came out. I think I once knew but I can't remember!

Do people really believe that Blondie or anyone else plays "underground" guitar to compesate for Keith & Ronnie??? It doesn't happen, ever.

Blondie used a barely audible gold top Les Pauk on a couple of songs on a previous tour, other than that he sometimes strums an acoustic. All other guitar parts (good and bad) are by Keith, Ronnie and sometimes Mick.

Overdubs on the Zilker Park DVD, now that's another matter altogether! hehe

Exactly. Some people repeat the same stuff over and over it starts to appear as fact....

Proof? There is none because it doesn't happen.
I use my eyes and my ears at Stones gigs and there is no hidden guitar player.

"and possibly vocal tracks used to hide Mick's own loss of vocal ability."

... Huh? Mick's vocal range has increased, not diminished, over the years. His volume (and willingness and ability to scream it out) have increased, not declined. He's a more versatile singer than he was in the 1960's and '70's for sure (and I'm a '69 and '72 tour junkie).

Agree with many others here: Blondie plays some good third guitar, but certainly NOT to cover up anything Keith and Ron are doing. If anything, they were turned UP on the last tour, as many people on this forum have observed. I thought it was a very good sound, even if it sometimes sounded sloppy (and Keith's solo on SFTD at Atlantic City positively blew the audience away).
