Well, it's nice to see again.
But it's one of their most famous early TV appearances . .

I agree 100%. The Brian Jones Era Stones are so underrated.

If that ain't the greatest tape ever, it don't exist. Period. I've been looking for the whole performance consecutively. And you nailed. You dirty bastard.

I'd like to add that Brian added so much to the Stones' stage presence back then. He had an incredible amount of charisma that only Jagger and a few others from the first British Invasion could match. Keith would in essence replace Brian as the no. 2 most charismatic Stone after his departure from the group in 1969, but it just wasn't the same. The void has never been filled.

Buy the DVD and you get the whole performance, plus James Brown, Chuck Berry, Lesley Gore and more. Whenever I watch it I notice they don't even show Bill until the 2nd number. And then during 'Time Is On My Side' they cut completely away from Brian's hands during the whole solo, leaving the question of whether he did indeed do it. (I think he did). Brian's ryhthm playing on 'Off The Hook' is kind of groovy too. It's almost like getting an entire Stones appearance from that era. The most they used to do was 8 songs.

I think I will. I've seen low-rent versions, but it's time for the re-master in its entirety.

Keith played the solo's throughout the set.

They are all equally great there, totally ready and able to do what they needed to do.

They all look so happy and full of life. Wonderful footage!

Very interesting dynamic occurring at 6:40.

Brian tries to side step Mick answering certain questions . . . then at the end, the sort of cheap shot, saying that Mick appeals to men . . .

I understand they are young and he's is joking around, but it kinda of an interesting jab in the sense that he tries to put him down in front of others; he is certainly losing control of his band . . .

Great historical footage.

Always worth posting this one again - TAMI show footage tends to disappear off YouTube because of copyright claims, and the DVD, the last time I looked, is only available in US format. This clip does look as if it comes from the DVD: it's in much better quality than the stuff that used to be around.

Yes he's a bit desperate, losing what once was his band, but I also get the feeling that the comment about Mick has a tiny little bit of truth to it. Like he's´, kind of, outing Mick. Maybe that's the thing with Brian and Keith versus Mick and the reason Keith still has to comment on Micks sexuality, attitude towards women, his penis, Preston, the "campiness" etc. Was it Anita who said something about Mick and Brian.

The music hasn't dated at all. Still sounds utterly exfoliating.

It was a great performance and of course I didn't want to say anything against posting it again!
There will always be someone who hasn't seen it yet.

But to be honest I'm wondering a bit that longtime Stonesfans haven't seen this before. One of their most famous early performances and bootleged (and meanwhile offically released) a million times . .

The footage that starts around the 9:05 mark is stunning. This is the best document of the band that I know of from the first Golden Era.

It's strange that you end up watching Brian more than the other guys, is it because we want to know more about what he actually contributed to the band as a guitar player as well as visually ?
Although Keith leads us to believe they were dual lead guitars, it seems here anyway, that Brian took more of a rhythm guitarist role.
He took the stridant chords at the end of 'Its all over now' - superbly.
And his on stage charisma easily matches Mick.
It's so tragic that only 5 years after this footage, he would be sadly meet his death.

Well, that is when they were the Rolling Stones. Brian was a wonderful rhythm player, and, quite simply, a genius; watch him on the Mike Douglas "Carol" vid with his Gretsch Anni; it's the driving force.

Truly always great to see this. I notice new things every time. For example, Keith posed alot in those days too, haven't seen the "guitar-is- boiling-hot" move, but a proto-kick and a dive yes!

Love that band!!!

There's a guy in the audience at about 7:54 who looks like he's from 1968 at earliest. Well done, that man.

I wish they'd release this, the Danish interviews, the Italian Courtfield/studio/live clip, the French interview with Mick speaking a little French, the Ed Sullivan appearances etc. and the videos (We Love You, JJF, Child of the Moon...) as a DVD compilation.
