What Stones album would you like to hear done live on tour?
Posted by: dmay ()
Date: May 10, 2013 22:23

When the "Exile" remaster came out awhile ago, Keith mentioned he would love to have the Stones do the entire album live on a tour. I guess he was following along with what Springsteen does in playing some of his albums in their entirity as part of a show. I'd go along with "Exile", "Beggar's Banquet", possibly "Sticky Fingers". The second side of "Tattoo You" would be great, but not the first side. So, what's your choice(s)?

If they had the guts to do an oldie they should do this one

Out of Our Heads (UK version)

1. "She Said "Yeah" 1:34
2. "Mercy, Mercy" 2:45
3. "Hitch Hike" 2:25
4. "That's How Strong My Love Is" 2:25
5. "Good Times" 1:58
6. "Gotta Get Away" 2:06
7. "Talkin' Bout You" 2:31
8. "Cry to Me" 3:09
9. "Oh, Baby" 2:08
10. "Heart of Stone" 2:50
11. "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" 3:07
12. "I'm Free" 2:24

It only would take them 40 minutes.........so the rest of the time warhorses

This would be way cool. The American version of "Out of Our Heads" would also be a good early one to do live.

Didn't they rehearse "that's how strong my love is" for this tour? I'd love to see them do it live this year.

"Abby Road", huh? Is this the Stones take on "Abbey Road"? I could get into the Stones doing "Come Together" and a jam on "She's So Heavy" with Bobby Keys wailing away on sax. They could end the song abruptly like on the Beatles album and kick right into "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" or "Monkey Man". Maybe they can get Paul and Ringo to sit in on one of the shows and surprise everyone by doing a few Beatles songs. Why not? This would blow everyone's mind.

Yeah Springsteen really pushed the boundaries with that idea. Although I've heard rumors that some obscure London band had done that in the past. They were called... Pink Floyd, or something.

Let It Bleed would be a good one...they already play about the whole album scattered thru out the setlist anyways...they could substitute "HTW" for "Country Honk" (which is basically the same song anyways)...Beggar's Banquet is also a realistic one they could pull off..."Jigsaw Puzzle" and "Dear Doctor" would be very interesting to hear, as well as "Prodigal Son" (when's the last time they played that one live? 1969? Sticky Fingers and Some Girls could also be performed live without much trouble as well...I'm afraid EOMS is a different story though...Exile would be very difficult because of songs like "I Just Wanna See His Face" and "Turd on the Run" etc...

I liked the idea they used back during the Forty Licks arena tour where they did a "spotlight" on a certain album and played 4 to 5 cuts off that particular album in a row...I was at the Nashville show and Exile was the album that night...With that concept, they could've included a wide variety of different albums throughout their career, but if I'm not mistaking I believe the only albums on that concept that were featured then was Beggar's, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile and perhaps Some Girls a couple of times...I still think that was a great idea though
