To the great fans of The Rolling Stones.... please help me identify the person Peter Corristonon used as the model on the front cover of Tattoo You. I have been searching the internet for hours and can't figure it out. And just to verify... that is Keith Richards on the back cover right? Hope someone can help. Thanks.

It's weird how folks look at that cover. I knew it was the Mickster the second I saw it, never in doubt, and yet there are friends of mine who still don't believe it's Mick -- even though they freely admit that's Keith on the back.

Go figure.

When I was a teenager I had a HUGE poster of that front cover. What I wouldn't give to be able to find that again -- lost in the move from my parents' downsizing operations.

Hey it's the poster.... I seriously do need this question answered. i have always thought it was indeed Mick, but my friend will not accept defeat. What i really need is a source or something so i actually have some proof for him.

Can you not use all the IORR experts as a source? Seriously - where else on the planet will you find a pool of deeper Stones knowledge?

I always thought it strange that Bill, Charlie, and Ron weren't even mentioned
on Tattoo You at all (I'm talking about when the LP was originally released).
NOthing on the back sleeve, nothing on the pullout sleeve.
Kind of insulting, I thought. Forget all of that "there was no time to do it" nonsense, that's BS.

I always thought it was Charlie at the front side.

Neither is Mick Taylor.

Oddly enough, a 'questions and answers' page in the Daily Mail a couple of weeks ago asked this same question. A surprisingly large amount of people assumed it wasnt Jagger probably because of the way his hair is combed down and his lips look smaller. I've even read some reports claiming its David Bowie (although the logic of having Bowie on the front cover of a Stones album with Keith on the back escapes me...)

You did pretty well to identify Charlie going by that pic!

Keith (bottom left), Ronnie (bottom right)

No Bill, which I'm sure cheered him up no end.

I'd have figured that Keith's facial shape and Ronnie's nose would have been the two most obvious distinctive characteristics

All of the band feature in varius poses on the back cover.

Mick had a full beard at the time the photos were taken which may account for the confusion.

so it seems like all of you on here claim to be fans of the rolling stones but no one can answer a seemingly simple stones trivia question with any proof to back it up.

can't even prove that it's the stones playing on the songs, either. boy, what the hell kinda fans are we?
