I don't think the Sharks can handle the Canucks in a series.

Tampa looks too good.

What happened to this thread? The players went on strike? The wrong team won? Or what?

As a Swede, and non-partisan I'll root for a Canadian team of course. At least those towns have seen real snow. Can there really be any hockey culture in Florida or California? Vancouver have never won the Stanley Cup, as far as I know, and have some good Swedish players in their team so: Go Canucks!

Sorry SCL! Boston is such a classic hockey team I mistook it for being Canadian. Mea Culpa. Boston is of course one of the oldest cities in the United States, with a huge historical importance. I shall slap myself on the fingers!

I was starting to wonder whether the Canadians had annexed Massachusetts. They're a sneaky bunch them. They can have Buffalo. But Bahstun is all ours.smiling bouncing smiley

Meanwhile,my Sharkies aren't going down without a fight.

They tried in the War of 1812, actually on December 30th of 1813 when the British and Indians invaded Buffalo and burned the city. However, we prevailed.

A fluke goal and a crappy non call at the end of regulation. The vancouver screw job is complete. The NHL wants a Canucks/Bruins final and they will get it. GO BRUINS!

I'm from Brazil, we are not Hockey fans at all, but I'm glad we can watch the NHL here on ESPN HD now. I'm supporting Canucks from the begining (my grandparents are living in Vancouver and I visit them every year) and I'm so happy that they will play for the Stanley Cup!!!

GO CANUCKS!!! GO PALMEIRAS!!!

Vancouver takes game 1 with 18 seconds left 1 - 0 win on a goal by Raffi Torres the slug who couldn't get a shot on goal for the Sabres in last years playoff against the Bruins.

Aghhh fudge, I can't get anybody I like to win. I will say this game was far more physical than I expected. I know their are 2 good goalies and a low scoring game was expected. But these teams beat the hell out of each other. I hope a hockey game breaks out in game 2.
