Keith also uses what could be an A minor in open G on "How I Wish" from 'Talk is Cheap" but I think what he really does is leave out the 3rd adn let's the listener put it in.

OK two questions for the Guitar experts as I'm a bass player 1st and guitar player second.

Regarding Open G tuning and the minor chord posted above...

Open G Tuning Low to High (Pitch) DGDGB - and then what? is the high pitched E tuned down to D just like the low? Can you tell I play 99.99% open tuning? The other .01% might might involve just a drop D tuning.

71Tele mentioned shaping the normal Am chord and adding the A string which seems far more feasable to me than trying do a four string barre infront of a single note. Is one more common than the other. Thoughts?

Yes, this technique is a little easier to do in the first position (as an Am chord). Harder to make that shape up the neck because you have to squeeze your pinkie in there, and it's quite awkward. A lot of times he cheats and just bars the first strings being careful to leave out the 3rd. But Hand of Fate is the best example of a minor in open G, I think. Fun to play.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Also, Justin I really appreciate your how to Vids
very clear & informative

Thanks so much Gripweed. I constantly get requests to add more but I think any thing else is already up there. At the time, there was no MR video on YouTube showing it correctly which is why I did mine. Plus I don't think there was any video at all for CYHMK...

Hello all,
Can someone tell me the difference between a baritone guitar vs a standard guitar, other than the sound?

Would putting a baritone neck on a standard guitar make that guitar a baritone? Are there other things that make it a baritone?

Thanks

You don't need a tabs...it is a 12 bar blues in 'B'..........just honk around a few Chuck Berry riffs and minor pentatonics.

The original.......

.....and then on the version below I added some riffs cos it is just fun to play.

Hello all,

I just finished reading the new Guitar Playerr (US) with Joe Perry on the cover.
They over blow his "survivor" status quite a bit but a good interview.

Joe's advice was to play with a metronome and/or a click track. Can someone please refer us to a good website for free downloadable clicktracks?

Thanks!

I can play the chord sequence to Bye Bye Johnny, it's just a nice easy CHuck work out, and I can play most of the licks....it's the damn intro I can't nail - it's been driving me crazy for weeks. I'm listening to the Brussels version. If anybody can tab that intro I'd be ecstatic. The notes just dont seem to exist on my guitar!!

I don't jot down tabs myself, but maybe this will show you my take on the intro . .
