I am sure that 90% of Susan's audience has never heard the original Wild Horses.

It would be interesting to know what they think of it?

Probably a little like listening to the original RJ Love in Vain after being used to the new stones' version ...

I get the impression it's more like about 95%!Anyway they all think her version is far superior.Have a look at the comments on any Stones version of the song on Youtube.

Just watched a short clip of her doing the song on America's got Talent, she seems to have completely wowed the audience. Gotta say, I think she covers it fabulously. Good luck to her, and I hope she gets a postcard from MJ & KR !!

unbelievable that everybody seems to like it. nothing against susan boyle. she seems to be a cool lady and she shurely has a good technique (besides her annoying vibrato). but this version is just terrible!!! are we on the titanic or at dianas funeral??? must be among the worst stones covers ever...

Each to theirs I guess. It's vastly different to a lot of the other covers for sure, but it ticks the box for me, I like it. And not that it's got anything to do with the vocal performance or the arrangement, but as an aside - hers is a pretty cool story. From total obscurity to this in the blink of an eye, and she's so far out of the stereotypical mould too. You'd have to not be human in order not to at least wish the lady well. I still hope she gets that postcard from the "boys wot wrote it" !!

I must be going soft but i think it's a really nice story. Now i'm well aware that it's been stage managed to within an inch of it's life and Cowell isn't getting any poorer from it,but as long as she's happy and not being exploited i can't see a downside.

So which Stones song should she cover next. After much consideration i'd love to hear her have a go at Casino Boogiesmiling smiley

The bastard is right. The song itself is exceptionally moving. Obviously, in fairness, our version is immeasurable.

I watched it last night too...1st time seeing the show and it sucked...BUT i liked Susan Boyle's cover of the song...Now i LOVE the way the Stones did it far better...(one of my fav Stones songs) But my wife said she enjoyed hearing the words and what a beautiful song it really is....
I hope its sells a ton and then young people may buy the Stones version and find out just how much better the real thing is!!

It's really awkward, I don't like the arrangement. It's like a dirge. But not only that, her vocal is awkward. They put the verses in too low of a key and the chorus is a harmony line instead of the melody, but it was done to give her a higher register and make it more dramatic. They should have put the whole thing in a higher key and have her sing it in a more conventional way. I say "they" because I'm sure she has nothing to do with the way the songs are put together.

Hmm, maybe it's more like an entire octave up on the chorus rather than a harmony line. In any case, it sounds odd, either do the verse higher or the chorus lower. Her voice isn't bad, but they could have covered the song better.
