Didn't some other woman sing a slowed down version similar to this a few years back?

That's the one I was thinking of! Almost identical, especially how the chorus seems to be sung in a higher key.

I am not going to make fun of her however I heard her verison of it this morning and I have to say it sounded terrible that's all I have to say about it.

Hate being the one who spoils the party here, but I don't like it. It is more a showcase of good vocals than an "interpretation". It's too calculated. The piano+strings arrangement is just too corny, over sentimental. The accents of her vocal line are "polite". And the chorus over does it. As I said some other time, stones songs are extremely complex in their simplicity, and these covers are way to banal, as a whole. That said the lady can sing.

Could well be a number 1 record in the Uk which can only be good for the Stones too

her version is not bad, but she can not do it better as Sir Mick Jagger.

.......Yes the Sundays version is very evocative. The emotions that come through the guitar and the haunting vocal does great honor to the original

Yes, it's not the style of music I prefer, but I like Ms. Boyle's treatment -- it seems genuine. Also, and it's a fine testament to how great the song is, that it could be interpreted in that way...

And again:
Sep 13: Susan Boyle doing Wild Horses
Susan Boyle, the amateur singer who took the world by storm earlier this year with her appearance in Britains Got Talent 2009, is expected to do a cover version of the Rolling Stones classic 1971 song "Wild Horses" at the opening of the USA version of the same show next week. Check out her studio version of "Wild Horses" on the Susan Boyle Fan Club USA, from an album due out in November.

I'm assuming bv put this on the news page.
