Here is what I just received today from Universal Music :

"We are very pleased to announce the reissue of the classic Rolling Stones hits collection “Jump Back: The Best Of The Rolling Stones 1971-1993” internationally for 17th August 2009.

The album was originally released in 1993 and has now been re-mastered in line with the rest of the group’s post-1971 studio recordings.

This definitive collection gathers eighteen of the group’s classics from the seventies and eighties, such as the Transatlantic Top Ten hits Tumbling Dice, Fool To Cry, Emotional Rescue and the much-loved Start Me Up. It also includes the ultimate rock anthem Brown Sugar, the ballad Angie and the dance-flavoured Miss You, three US number one singles in wildly different styles, a testament to the band’s versatility, creativity and lasting appeal.

Aaaah, another one.

Well, what does the entire concert mean? Will it be the old Ya-ya's with extra tracks? Ya-ya's is from 3 diff. concerts. So will the extra songs come from Baltimore, or the MSG gigs? Or maybe even from other concerts?!

Then there's the DVD..... MSG footage? Altamont?

God, I need to lie down for a minute.

My nipples have just exploded with delight.

First Exile, and now this. Great to see some thought being put into the back catalogue reissues at long last.

I don't understand the text -the entire concert PLUS five bonus songs? How can that be? Don't they mean they will release Ya-Ya's as originaly intended, so the original album plus the opening acts? The bonus songs could be the ones mentioned when the DVD came out, which were the ones that ABKCO doesn't have the rights to; so Carol, Queenie, Prodigal Son, You Gotta Move and Love in Vain from MSG.

The DVD sounds intriguing...perhaps some unreleased footage the Maysles shot?

I don't understand the text

Well, how about the original Ya-Ya's (regarded by Atlantic as the entire concert) plus the 5 songs you've mentioned as an extra on the ep?

Sorry to say , is Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out not released sept.4 1970 ? The 40th ANNIVERSARY must be in 2010 .

I presume they mean the 40th anniversary of when it was recorded. It may have been released in 1970 but its more associated with 1969.

I though Universal only owned bought the rights to the previously owned Virgin releases...which wouldn't include Ya Ya's.
