Gene Barge is the better sax player by far than Earnie Watts with his squeaking style. And: Although I'm not a friend of Chuck Leavell's influence, I concede that his tasteful contributions in 82 make the difference in the keyboard section, e.g. during Beast of Burden.

All future releases must have good mastering and mixing. The last releases are rather disappointing, some got worse than the available bootlegs (Miami 94). But assuming this, I would like to see the three shows in NY 69 released in full, the rest of LA 75 in full and El Mocambo 77 (both evenings).

To be honest, I don't care. I don't want to see another greatest hits tour. If they would arrange their songs in different ways, okay. But all the shows are reduced to a common denominator. No risk, no fun. They should go to studio making some nice recordings, Blue and Lonesome II, III for example. I would be content with this.
