Quotedcba QuoteMathijs Then the Wembley show...It just doesn't sound very nice in my opinion, it is just not very pleasant to listen to. They play like they are having a fight. Mathijs Fine description of this tour! I remember reading a contemporary interview in which Keith hissed that pitiful Jagger was out of breath after only 3 numbers. I always had the impression he rushed the

QuoteMathijs I think that at this age, and at this stage in their career the Stones should not be judged on their musical abilities anymore. Mathijs Hey, my friend, they are professional musicians. What should we judge them by other than their musical qualities? By their dental status or their pension amount?

Quoteerad Well after sampling some of the Wembley show via Spotify I am not so sure about springing for the Super Deluxe anymore. It sounds super thin, the drums in particular. Not much better than a standard 1981/82 SBD boot. Actually I had a boot of the Hampton show that I downloaded years ago which sounds 10x better than this release... Certainly not worth paying the extra $100+ for a book and

Remarkable is that the Wembley mix is catastrophic on Amazon Music and Spotify, but is essentially better on the HomePods and Apple Music. Has Apple Music maybe an algorithm that corrects lousy mixes?

Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 I agree with maindefender there is nothing else like YaYa's. The closest sound is Hampton at least the original bootleg I got in 1982. I had the chance meanwhile to hear Wembley on a good sound system. The old Sam Wheat-disease: Mick upfront in a grotesque way. The guitars in the background. It is the same messed-up sound like on Miami. A great performance and a lousy sound. Is Bob Clearmountain too expansive for a deluxe-project? So they pay for an absolutely deaf man.

Wembley is superb, a raw, rough and rowdy performance as I like it. Besides Leeds another testimonial of the greatest band on earth (and in heaven).

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteRobertJohnson QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteRobertJohnson Wembley seems to be a good mix. I can't judge it fully though, as I'm still at work and have a poor sound system here. I thought it sounded all right, too. Listened with headphones through a stereo system. A good show, too, seemingly. Is it as crisp and clear as Leeds 82? This is the benchmark for

The sound of the band has changed, without any doubt, as far as I can judge from YouTube. Especially the drumming on Paint It Black is completely different, the character of the song has changed. But it was to be expected that Steve Jordan would not be a copy of Charlie. And that's a good thing, there are people at the instruments and not machines that could be cloned.

I'm quite happy with the new edition, under Lost and Found there are some strong titles like Shame, Shame, Shame. And promising is Wembley 1982, the 81/82 tour is one of the Stones' best for me and the last one that wasn't a Vegas tour. However, I hope that the sound quality is as good as Leeds 82.
