Nice job, thanks. I know Mick J. is compelling but I wish Frank filmed more of the band. For example, Bobby during his solo.

Thanks for sharing your work. Must have been a nightmare to sync. More reading on the topic: Welcome to New York 1972.

Hyde Park runs too slow on the official releases. My guess is because it was filmed at 25 frames/sec and played back at 24 frames/sec, so about 4% slow. Unbelievable. Easily corrected with an audio program such as Audacity.

From the description: "This is the first time (to my knowledge), that someone has synced this footage to audio. Audio synced to their L'Olympia performance in April, and Hamburg in September of the same year."

QuoteProfessorWolf thanks is there anyway to get the complete audience tape does anyone know where to find under what release From the description: Tracks 1-6 are from a second generation audience recording. Quality is decent for '72; I've heard better and worse. I discovered this tape in 1992, on a Rolling Stones mailing list. The person I got it from got from a friend who was the

The audio is NOT Paris. It's Berlin 9/16/70. Assuming the video is from Paris, that's why it doesn't quite sync. Regardless, great job. The Stones were at one of their performing peaks in 1970 and this is a pleasure to watch.

For what it's worth, six songs from the five Earl's Court shows (~80 songs total) are on the official DVD: Led Zeppelin DVD.

I put this up on Dime earlier today. Parts of it came from the Stonesvault. They are having freeloader days through Jan. 1, meaning a download won't count against your total. The Rolling Stones - Live Rarities 1972-1973 This is a compilation of rarely played songs from the Stones' prime era. I made it for my own enjoyment but thought it might be of interest to others, so here it

Interesting, thanks. Edit: Now that I've listened to some of it, very nice work. And I know matrixing old analog sources is not easy.

Quotedcba Rotterdam? Rotterdam 10/13/73. Distinguishing marker is that Mick says, "Whoo, arright" at the end. Strangely no other broadcast songs have surfaced from this concert.

My pick is Happy Birthday Dear Nicky on the Halcyon label. But I think any version is going to be pretty good if you can't get that one.

Would like to know where this came from. Starts off w/same tracks as "Philadelphia Special" (VGP-260; I have 2nd edition for reference) but arguably better quality with more high end. Then it apparently switches sources and some tracks have excessive noise reduction. My guess is this was assembled from various releases.

Best vinyl version: pre-Swingin' Pig 2LP set on multi colored vinyl, black and white cover. No noise reduction. Best CD version: VGP-260. Similar track listing and cover to above but a couple more songs as I recall. Slight noise reduction. Avoid: Swingin' Pig 1 and 2. What else is out there?

Quotesoulsurvivor1 I always thought there were 3 versions of Street Fighting Man? I'll have to check. Not quite. Two versions, but one has two mixes. There is the London version, which I think is the best, which was used on all the '70s broadcasts and bootlegs. Then the Brussels version first turned up in the 1988 broadcast IIRC. The Brussels version was remixed for the 2011 offi

Nicely done. Sounds like VGP sources. All broadcast quality except Star Star from the audience recording as usual, nicely spliced in to recover the first note of Dancing with Mr. D.

I spent some time listening to different recordings of the concert tonight. Here's a theory: The official US and Japanese DVD/Blu-Ray releases run too slow. That's because they were recorded at 25 FPS by Granada TV and played back at 24 FPS for release, which is about a 4% difference. (I'm in the US). Maybe other countries' releases play at the correct 25 FPS speed?

Quotefunkydrummer In response to DPH - I don't have the recent official Stones in the Park rerelease - I assumed it used the same sound as the old version...but apparently it all Stereo - although missing tracks. Just checked if it is in Stereo on DAC 183 - it is the audience and WLIR broadcast - mono. Unless there was another release? Sections of mine are in mono but mostly stereo and if no
