Peter Buck of R.E.M. used one on their "Monster" album. Check out "Crush With Eyeliner" for the heavy Tremolo/overdrive sound.

Quotewith sssoul LoFL @ Steve smashing his drum kit so hard they had to replace the tom in mid-number! A small price for such sublime thunderousness I say :E It's the tom stand that gets replaced. He's using a vintage snare drum stand (1950s-1960s I'd guess from looking at it) which is not the best idea as they are not very strong at all. You can see it gets replaced for one i

Anyone know where I can get this cheap? I only want it for the exclusive b-side of "Spanish Castle Magic - Live". Amazon has it for £17 but there's no way I want to pay that for one track.

4 Tracks circulate from this show in professionally mixed mono. I believe the idea was some kind of EP that never happened.

QuoteKRiffhard Quoteaudun-eg Hope JW doesn't come anywhere near the Stones in a recording studio. You're afraid he can do a good work?! He's surely better than Don 'muffled sound' 'anti -groove' Was!! What's muffled on "Voodoo Lounge" and "Bridges To Babylon"? I think those sound great. "A Bigger Bang" sounded crap but

If it does happen, I hope he doesn't guest on the album. I don't like his sound at all. He may be a great producer for other artists though. I am surprised at all the Don Was bashing. I think "Voodoo Longe" and "Bridges To Babylon" (the bits he produced) sounded superb. It's hard to tell with "A Bigger Bang" as the mastering destroyed any ch

Am I right in thinking the audio download version differs from the DVD/Bluray release in that some tracks were from different nights? Am I also right in thinking there was a version with "Beast of Burden" which wasn't on other versions? I'm looking to put everything available into a single compilation (with lossless audio) and don't know what sources I need. Any

Just watching the new Hyde Park Bluray and I noticed that during "Sympathy for the Devil" our mystery man has climbed up in the tree to get a better view. I'd never noticed this before.

It's doubtful that any 1970 shows were professionally recorded. They may have board tapes in the archives but so far they've only released multi-track recordings.

QuoteHis Majesty Quotevudicus In both those instances it's Bobby Beausoleil. There's a version of the film on youtube with commentary from Kenneth Anger and he states on both occasions that it's Bobby. Sadly, he doesn't mention the Van Leuven at any point during the commentary. Bobby is not the guy shown at the times Naturalust pointed out. He is the fella in my screen

Quoteswiss Just in from Kenneth Anger's right-hand-man: "its not haydn couts - this photo is from july 5, 1969 - hayden couts, leslie huggins, etc came along after kenneth shot in egypt in 1970 van leuven was from the san francisco shoot which preceded kenneth's trip to london around October 68" So, no dice on either of those guesses. - swiss Good work, Swiss.
