Baboo bro, As much as you feel, ethically, they 'owe' you or those in any city of a cancelled show anything, legally they don't. You buy a ticket for anything there is no guarantee it will happen, and if it doesn't they can refund your money. You want to talk about consideration for fans? The fact that they re-schedule shows definitely demonstrates that to a degree. H

This happened with the song Undercover as well. When in high school I taped a version of Undercover played on the radio just prior to the release of the single. It was a thoroughly different mix of the song and I have never been able to find it since. Naturally, the cassette I recorded it on was lost some 6 months later. I also have confirmation from a friend of mine that it was not a st

The 4Reels songs aren't true 'outtakes' - they were officially used as TV promos, I beleive on the OGWT or similar. They were also, apparently, prepared as 'demos' for what Rollin Binzer, the director of L&G, had in mind for the film. They are also edited much better then the rest of the movie. J

Can we all just use this forum to express our condolences instead of trying to determine the 'correctness' of Mick's response, whatever it will be, re. cancelled shows etc.???? The man's fater has died. This forum is supposed to be about HIM, not ticketholders and such. Let's not judge his grieving process against anything other than what HE wants to do and leave it

If you did not know before, the instrumental clip before "Don't Lie To Me" cuts in (track 1, CD2) is, indeed, the band rehearsing parts of "Sweet Black Angel" which they would perform the next day in Ft. Worth for the (assuming**) only time ever. The initial higher-pitched guitar lines are the end of the " de gal in chains" part, and the thumping, heavier gui

This could most-likely be from the local TV news speacial that aired. Obviously, it is raw footage. There is an audio tape of this news show floating around. J

>Keith didn't use his black Telecaster Custom before 2005 AFAIK. Um, I hope you mean on the tune "Monkey Man," because Keith lived with that beautiful guitar on the 81 tour as well as 78 and Barbarians shows, and I'd hazard a guess that it was used in 75-76 too. When he brought it back this year I almost shed a tear. And it sounds PHENOMENAL. Keith has really been p

Surely The Stones will strap them on and play "Sweet Neo Con" tonight for Bill's B-Day and Marty's cameras. Back in the day it would be a no-brainer. Like "Dancin' With Mr. D." would be for Tuesday night too. J

I cannot BELIEVE you have posted this. I too saw this when I was in college c. 86-88 and have tried to find it ever since. I even know big time Dylan collectors that don't know what I am talking about when I try to explain what it was. I am SO thankful someone has unearthed this. Thank you thank you thank you J

Alimente: You can call it whatever you see fit (as I would call your response something along the lines of sour grapes). As for those collectors obtaining their stuff illegally, that simply is not true in a significant portion of the cases. What is most often the case is some collector has lent or generously given a copy to someone, in a trade or otherwise, and has accepted their word that

One point I actually missed was that some of these 'hoarding' collectors don't circulate their stuff because if something 'rare' that they got ends up being bootlegged and enters wider circulation, their connection to that rare stuff is then cut off for not being able to keep their word. As for the glitchy b/w work print of Rock and Roll Circus, that, indeed, was done

You referring to the Norman Gunston stuff? Australian TV personality the Stones, for some reason, found quite a funny chap. He had unprecedented access during portions of the 78 tour too. J

The tape is not in circulation for any number of reasons. First and foremost because whoever rightfully owns it has not decided to do anything with it, or possibly doesn't even know they have what they have. And when you decide to use footage like that there are a myriad of clearances you have to go through. If Jagger doesn't like the way his hair looks he can say 'no,' and

SALTOFTHEEARTH you may be right - I have a very brief clip in very poor quality of the band performing live -- outfits and guitars are the same as 68 Pollwinners. The clip is inbetween two other pieces that are dubbed together. In typical bootleg video fashion, the first piece ends into static, the live clips 'fades' in as the picture settles and then the second piece begins, cutting

The 68 Pollwinners concert is, to my knowledge, not in any collector's hands being 'hidden.' It is not in an 'accessible' location currently. As for the David Frost SFTD clip, that is very limited collector's circles due to it's rarity. It is a fantastic performance that has rarely, if ever, seen the light of day. The only place I have seen it available is

Debra, "Streets of Love" was the first dog in that setlist. Brought a run of great performances and great choices to a screeching halt. Second was "Ain't To Proud To Beg" which, in my opinion, never takes off. Easily the two low-lights of the show. Christ, during "Streets of Love" Jagger so much as said 'This is kinda lame ain't it?" with

1st Hollywood Bowl show may be the best Stones show I've ever seen. The playing was incredible, the sound was incredible, The whole show was high energy all the way through. The Foxboro show recently wasn't too far behind either (Streets Of Love killed it). I saw all three MSGs in 98, which definitely rank at the top next to the Orpheum on Licks. Also saw the Wiltern - decent show -

I'm guessing they're going to stay FAR away from anything in the Middle East. What better way for some nutbag group to get publicity by disrupting such an international event. Or worse, doing something fatal. Besides, they're pretty much not welcome as others have pointed out. Western music is pretty much illegal, and besides the Stones are POSTER BOYS for capitalism and tra

EP? Hell I think "Black and Blue" should have been a DOUBLE LP. One of the drawbacks is that all of those grooves are edited down. The outtakes show most of those songs were 7 minute funk/groove jams that would have sounded great at full length worked out. As well as some of the songs that didn't make the cut. It's another prime example of the Stones tapping into the

The Stones got over their 'festival' desire pretty quickly. Palm Beach was a disaster, and we all know how they felt about Altamont. Scanning my brain I think the only other 'festival' type thing they ever have done was Knebworth in 76 and that was to make up to the homeland for the lousy Earl's Court shows that not enough people could get into. SARS was sort of the
