Quotehot stuff I think that Jagger and company didn't have a real feel or love for the music at that time... IMO---you can hear them play it by the numbers..No real heart into it. I like all their soul- like numbers...But not nearly as much as all the other stuff the Stones recorded....Its All Over now or Cry to me??? I like Cry to me...But Jagger just sounds more like he is s

Quotehot stuff Sad Andrew push them to try soul music. It just doesn't work...Just play this song. haha. They should stick to rock... But then again it did work when they made Just My Imagination... But that tract has a rock edge to it. Then how do you consider their versions of "That's How Strong My Love Is" and "Cry to Me"? Are they not soul music? Maybe, r

I fully agree that what I hold to be their third peak, kicks off right away with the single A-side "Jumping Jack Flash". And to add to that, to me (as I seem to have read others say something likewise before) "Child of the Moon" somehow constitutes this fabulous bridge from where they came, to this their new starting point. More than "Angie", I like to consider

I prefer to hold another point of view. It involves 1) a multi peak perspective 2) where it is difficult to make comparisons between periods and peaks. Because, what common measure sticks are there, which are not themselves coloured of individuals' personal preferences? Of course, that applies to my point of view as well. As to 1963/4 – 67 I would suggest a somewhat rough distinction

I have not got one favourite Stones album only, even if I in the past could have been made to nominate one. Rather, there are to me now 8 - 10 Stones albums in undecided rivalry for that title. That rivalry never stops. And at times there are outside contenders that do no qualify, but at given moments might give me as much intensity of feeling. There is much joy for me to have it that way.

1) GOATS HEAD SOUP. Not quite living up to its even greater potential, in my view. A more "gothic" sounding "Dancing with Mr D." could have contributed, more importantly, "Silver Train" and "Hide Your Love" are not as good as the first five songs, far from it, and the isolated very good song "Winter" is paradoxially not able to restore the album

An idea for a compilation album: THE FANS' DISLIKES ALBUM. Dependent only on how it was arranged as to playing order,of course, it would have made a great album. What a band!

No, "Undercover" is not "the most unique, overlooked, underrated, EXCELLENTest song in the Stones Catalogue". That is because there are other candidates, too. (Do not ask me which songs!) But "Undercover" is the first of two sensational songs that start off an album that probably is their best since EXILE ON MAIN STREET. It stands out as a highlight even of an a

At the moment I'd prefer the Stones to record two, three or four new songs more or less in the musical style of "Doom and Gloom" and "One More Shot". That would be with the view to release them as electronic singles, one at a time, during the winter and spring of 2013. Alternatively, one or two of those might be more trend or even commercially directed. The motivation wo

Is there any benefit in prolonging the experience and watering down the feelgood factor? A great comparison would be the Cream concerts in 2005. May in London everybody had a great time. October in New York not such a great time. that's what they said in 68, 70, 76,1980, 1

I am humble about how Doxa might have reacted towards this. Maybe, what has not been meant as condesdcending, quite the contrary, would be seen that way by him. I acknowledge that possibility. However, on a soccer site ,where I post much more than I do on IORR, I have a couple of times in the past been met with not the same reactions, but something of a similar kind. It was during a peri

QuoteGazza ..................................................... I dont think there's even a slight chance of a new studio album in 2013 - they'll only do one if they have a contractual obligation to do so and if its then going to be followed by a significant amount of shows to publicise it - and neither of those are applicable. If they were to even start making a new record in early
