On this one we differ Voodoo, I see your point but for me the modern touch would be a plus. It must have been like for fans in '78 hearing the new wave, punk & disco flavoured 'Some Girls'. Modern at that time, but still identifiably Stones (same for ER & TY). Again in '89, just for another example - 'Steel Wheels' was very produced, and many still prefer

Ordered 'Sucking in the Seventies' from JPC. Postage to Ireland from Amazon was being quoted as €30; I'm sure I could combine items but I really only want SITS. JPC offered it for €5 shipping. SITS is perhaps my favourite compilation - there is just something about it with it's wonderful mix of outtakes, radio edits, and live. The AllMusic review nails it, it sums up the

QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteVoodooLounge13 I hear a new album might be forthcoming. Hoping it’s light years better than Power Up, which for me was the worst Brian era album. I can’t even listen to it. A huge disappointment compared even to Rock Or Bust. Whut? That's hilarious. Post-FTATR, to my ears: Flick Of The Switch *** Fly On The Wall ** Blow Up Your Video

QuoteSighunt Boy, when i see this, how I would love to acquire a complete professionally shot 69 show of the Stones at the Garden before I leave this world. Such a shame that what's left over from what the Maysles filmed is just sitting in a vault somewhere gathering dust... I know, how we all wish we could see that footage. Knowing that there exists a full show (or shows, surely) from 196

We all hear things differently, that's the beauty of music. For die hards like us on the board, the weight of expectation is quite a hurdle for any album by the band, we'll sometimes critique it far more surgically than casual reviewers/listeners would. I posted a few days back I love the album, the expectation for me was not only met but surpassed. I don't think of any of it as

156k in UK alone in 9 weeks, and a second time atop the charts. Amazing. I love the album. It had a magic and a charm to it that first day - after 18 years since ABB - two days prior to release, shut myself off from the noise of the house, an ice cold Coke, good set of headphones - an hour plus, full album through, selected tracks repeated. Sounded so good, and for me its lost none of its cha

Still love the song and even the remix. Mess It Up was a favourite from initial listening, still sounds great now. Deliciously groovy.

Love it, as I do the whole album. Black & Blue, the songs, the image, the aura around them at the time, the European tour in '76 - decadence indeed with some great songs. Hey Negrita, like Hot Stuff, is irresistible. Loved the version on the Knebworth boot even more than the studio version, both are mighty fine, funky Stones joints. Memory Motel, Fool To Cry; a pair of sublime bal

QuoteVoodooLounge13 Thanks all for confirming the non-existence of LIAGT on the back of the CD. Was hoping maybe I had something valuable! LOL Rather odd though, as the bonus tracks have been listed in the past. I had the very same thought when it first arrived - where was LIAGT!^ Not on the track listing, but indeed there on the Obi. First time I have seen a bonus track not getting a mention

Quotewiredallnight I received the 2 CD set from Amazon.fr. Very nice to have the show also on CDs (the DVD/Bluray is already in the box, I don't need it again). Now we need also Paradiso and Brixton on CDs. It's such a great show, have it on here this evening. Is there a booklet with the CD version you got?

Whole Wide World is rocking on this - the whole lot is good, definitely has a spark and magic to it, it's not '78 or '72 but it's quality rock'n'roll. Whole Wide World though I've had on 3 or 4 times already this afternoon. Ronnie channelling Neil Young/Crazy Horse on those solos (like the album version). May even prefer this to the studio version.

Sounding really good actually, much better than the videos. Overdubs? Whatever, the guitars are nice and clear and raucous. The tracks are better than I was expecting. Can't seem to find 'Sweet Sounds' on YouTube, the other six are there though.

QuoteHardRiffin Quotespikenyc Damon sounds a little jealous here? He should respect his elders! Absurd criticism! Damon what the @#$%& are you talking about?!!! I think the success of this album (especially in UK) has created a lot of envy! Sums it up, bit of envy there. Great post summing it up more by dcba above. Quoteironbelly Still with diskunion But here you will be forced to pay local Japanese VAT of 10%, local Japanese post (~450 JPY) and proxy service fee (500 JPY), and maybe something extra to proxy company before shipment to your location. Thus, the price would be ~1300JPY higher comparing to cdjapan. The listing for preorders was back at CDJapan and at Tower Japan earlier today. I pre ordere

Japanese version of 2 CD Hackney Diamonds back for pre order on CDJapan. Like VoodooLounge13 wrote above, I'd normally only buy the album once; if the Japanese version had a bonus track that's the one I'd go for. This time I got the cassette aswell as it's just a nice collectible. CD/Bluray for the book, Japanese edition for bonus track. Standard CD I gave as gift to one of

HD Special Live Edition sold out in CD Japan. I had it in my cart, let it go to think about it (incl postage about 45 Euro), 20 mins later went back and stock was gone - am sure they'll get more, just a question of when. The Japanese editions are so collectible with the packaging - obi strip, SHM..etc.

Just in time for Xmas, sales bump. Do I purchase it again - I have the Japanese digipack version, the standard jewel case, the cassette, and the CD/Bluray box. A fifth copy? Likely will, hard to say no - extra CD, amended booklet. There'll be another version next year maybe with DVD, the remixes..etc. Will probably purchase that too lol Thankfully the album is great, 6 or so weeks

A real grower. Initially not one of the big hitters, but subsequent listens and I can't get enough of it! A highlight. The riff very reminiscent of Bigger Bangs 'Dangerous Beauty', the melody line definitely traces of 'Too Far Gone', but it is a marvellous track.

QuoteIdorh After more than a week of listening, I like the album HD better and better. You keep hearing different sounds and voices. Same; a week in and it is a keeper. I love the sound, the groove, the feel. Very commercial, some pop hook chorus's or bridges, but they add so much to the whole. Get Close and Tell Me Straight were the serious growers; a week ago they weren't quite

Just received the digipack from CDJapan, was surprised with the 20 page booklet, had been thinking booklet would be same as jewel case version with text and no photos. Great to have the photos in the booklet, all are contained (and more) in the CD/Bluray set book also.

A gem. The unmistakable Tumbling Dice feel at the beginning into an almost Xpensive Winos groove on the verses. The pop hook feel of the chorus a great contrast and works so well. Appreciate the track more with each listen. Wonderful stuff.

Quoteschwonek I think this track - it is soooo cool. A masterpiece. I like it a lot even as a stand alone song. The drums from Charlie are superb. Could be from the 70ies even. Love it. Same; loved it from initial listen. Stones strut in verses, cool slinky disco bassline and feel for the chorus. Addictive groove. One of my early favourites, though the album as a whole has many highlights alrea

Cdjapan hopefully deliver by next Tuesday, really thinking on purchasing the vinyl this weekend. Pity no band photos in the standard edition booklet. The bigger 64 page booklet, many band shots? I'm sure an unboxing/unwrapping video will pop up on YouTube. Such an exciting time to be a fan of this band. Loving the album.
