Quotecrawdaddy One of the last Legends of 50's Rock 'n Roll. Off the top of my head only Jerry Lee Lewis is still around, but there may be a few more hopefully. Duane Eddy is still around.

As great as Get Back was, it showed them writing and recording when they were in their back to basics laid back phase. I would kill for a similar style documentary but to witness them create their more complex music. Imagine footage like that during the Tomorrow Never Knows sessions, for example? Goddamn!

Quotelem motlow This idiotic idea shows a complete lack of understanding of each band. Relax, I'm pretty sure the meme was made as a joke. Quotelem motlow The Beatles were a pop group that played some rock music, they have a certain goofy factor about them. They lack an attitude that great rock and roll bands possess. “I think that Andrew very much liked to contrive the danger because he s

None of us know exactly what is going on with their private life. Some of us like to think we know them but we don't. For all we know, Keith could be farting on stage the whole time. Maybe Ron always groans when getting up from a chair. We just don't know. They're not superhuman. How they are on stage shouldn't be an indication as to how they are in private.

Quotebakersfield I don't understand the Red Hot Chilli Peppers appeal. It might be the way that they record - I can hear the instruments but i can't hear the room. Consequently it sounds lifeless to me....I don't hear songs, just jams with words on top... and the guy doesn't have a very strong singing voice. Sorry don't get it. No offense but that's a weird thing to

Love 'em or hate 'em you've got to respect the fact that the Peppers have been out there doing their thing since their first album in 1984. They haven't broken up for 15 years or whatever only to reunite to play their hits. They've been consistently on the scene for a long ass time and they're still putting out new music AND still packing stadiums all over the world.

Good on Neil and Joni and others that are pulling their music from Spotify, but the unfortunate thing is if Spotify offered them, let's say, 2 dollars per stream instead of 0.0001 cents or whatever it is then they would probably come back in a heart beat.

Bat Out Of Hell, great album. Listening to that today made me start listening to Ellen Foley's first album. What a voice! I could see her singing Gimme Shelter live with Mick. (she even covers Stupid Girl on this album). But I digress. RIP Meat Loaf

QuoteCindyC The talent of John, Paul, and George is unmistakeable and awe-inspriring. I often felt badly for Ringo as he often had a look on his face as if he were in over his head, and was going to be discovered as a fraud at any time. What? A fraud? Are you kidding? Ringo was an awesome drummer in The Beatles and beyond. His playing in the documentary and on Let It Be is fantastic. I think you

QuotePaddy Taking these albums side by side comes down to which has the energy. The Beatles may be superior in their writing on with the Beatles, but they’re not lightning in a bottle like some of the stones tracks are. With The Beatles certainly has energetic songs...

It's so silly when Stones fans dismiss The Beatles as just being a boring generic pop band and not rock and roll. The Beatles had more than a years worth of concerts under their belt before Mick and Keith even met. And those were rock and roll concerts. They were poppin' pills and kicking ass. By the time The Stones started recording The Beatles were already way ahead in the game. And I

On the Tattoo You deluxe edition, it sure sounds like him on the drums. It has that distinct playing on the ride cymbal which is his style of playing. And now I see he played that tune with the Stones at the Watts tribute. Interesting. edit: After listening to the song on youtube that was posted years ago, my suspicion that the drums were redone recently seems to be incorrect. I was wrong. Car

I've never seen an induction ceremony from start to finish so I'm not sure if they have a host spending lots of air time making jokes and whatnot, but if that's the case, it reminds me of the Oscars when so much of the monologue or jokes in between giving out awards should be cut back so the non-celebrities that win an award for best make up or whatever can have a little more than

Ringo also did an interview on Rick Rubin's podcast which occurred on the day Charlie passed away. (also on Spotify, and wherever you listen to podcasts). At the beginning Ringo talks a bit about Charlie and also at the 39 minute mark he tells an amusing story involving him and Charlie and John Bonham. The entire interview is very good! Lots of interesting tidbits.

Quotejumpingjackflash5 Yes. If Jordan does not improve during the fall tour, they should consider doing a contest for the new drummer, this time with enough time to choose. Mr. Jordan can be one of the candidates. So, Steve Jordan was selected as the touring drummer. But, because you don't like him, you want the Stones to have a contest and audition other drummers, but also keep Steve Jordan

If you care so much about the quality of the sound then don't judge the quality of the sound based on a 60 second cellphone recording, which is not an accurate representation of the sound you're listening to.

If any of you are in a band, next time you play a gig have someone film 30 seconds of it on a crappy sounding cellphone and post it on here so I can criticize the mix and how your band sounds. I'll judge your entire show and any future shows based on that 30 second clip from a crappy sounding cellphone. Thanks!
