On the Tattoo You deluxe edition, it sure sounds like him on the drums. It has that distinct playing on the ride cymbal which is his style of playing. And now I see he played that tune with the Stones at the Watts tribute. Interesting. edit: After listening to the song on youtube that was posted years ago, my suspicion that the drums were redone recently seems to be incorrect. I was wrong. Car

I've never seen an induction ceremony from start to finish so I'm not sure if they have a host spending lots of air time making jokes and whatnot, but if that's the case, it reminds me of the Oscars when so much of the monologue or jokes in between giving out awards should be cut back so the non-celebrities that win an award for best make up or whatever can have a little more than

Ringo also did an interview on Rick Rubin's podcast which occurred on the day Charlie passed away. (also on Spotify, and wherever you listen to podcasts). At the beginning Ringo talks a bit about Charlie and also at the 39 minute mark he tells an amusing story involving him and Charlie and John Bonham. The entire interview is very good! Lots of interesting tidbits.

Quotejumpingjackflash5 Yes. If Jordan does not improve during the fall tour, they should consider doing a contest for the new drummer, this time with enough time to choose. Mr. Jordan can be one of the candidates. So, Steve Jordan was selected as the touring drummer. But, because you don't like him, you want the Stones to have a contest and audition other drummers, but also keep Steve Jordan

If you care so much about the quality of the sound then don't judge the quality of the sound based on a 60 second cellphone recording, which is not an accurate representation of the sound you're listening to.

I realize this is a discussion board and every detail of every thing the Stones have ever done has been analyzed and scrutinized and studied, and that is great, but good lord, I really hope you guys aren't like this during an actual concert! Especially now with Charlie gone. If you're at an upcoming concert, ENJOY IT! I hope during the concert you're not saying to yourself "Th

If any of you are in a band, next time you play a gig have someone film 30 seconds of it on a crappy sounding cellphone and post it on here so I can criticize the mix and how your band sounds. I'll judge your entire show and any future shows based on that 30 second clip from a crappy sounding cellphone. Thanks!

This tour could be the very last time we see these musicians on stage together and so many people are complaining. "It's not the Stones". Well, no. It's not. Charlie is gone. If you go in expecting to get what you've had before, you'll be disappointed. Enjoy it for what it is. Also, watching a 60 second crappy cellphone video is no way to judge a performance. Or even

Louis Cole on drums. Fantastic drummer. And Sam Wilkes on bass. He's awesome. He also plays with a band called Scary Goldings, a funky instrumental band. Real good stuff there. The drummer Tamir Barzilay is amazing. Here's a couple of samples:

One person on this thread says their "source" says cause of death was related to Charlie's liver. Another person says his heart. And now another says their source says it was throat cancer. Clearly some people are wrong here with their "sources". so let's not speculate. That's how rumours start and rumours fly fast on the internet. Let's give Charlie th

I'm assuming the same thing that has happened before every tour will soon begin. We'll get setlist leaks from the rehearsals that will have songs that they've never performed live, we'll all get super excited about that, then when the concerts start again none of them will have those songs, just the usual ones. Maybe they'll throw in one "rarity" into the mix.

I really hope it's just the trailer and that half of the film isn't shots of the crowd because that would suck.

The Stones are older. They're grandpas. Mick doesn't sing certain songs on stage the way they were written. There's no way a movie like C*cksucker Blues would be greenlit by Mick and the others. Unless the naughty bits were edited out but then it wouldn't be the same movie.

Disappointing Prince Vaults Found To Contain 37,000 Hours Of Billy Joel Covers CHANHASSEN, MN—Ending rampant speculation regarding the extent of the late musician’s catalogue of unreleased recordings, the executors of Prince’s estate announced Monday that the performer’s famed vault in his Paisley Park residence sadly contains 37,000 hours of Billy Joel covers. “Prince was constantly creat

Hopefully the new version strips away some of the tedious wall of sound nonsense that muddied up the acoustics so on this release. jb Sounds like maybe you're th

How do The Stones sound on an expensive pair of headphones? More specifically, I was thinking of getting the Sony XM4, which seems to be the best wireless headphones currently, according to reviews. Anyone here own them? How do The Stones, and music in general, sound on Spotify compared to cheaper headphones? Is it a completely new experience with the improved sound quality? Edit: thanks for the

Quotewonderboy A hundred years from now, people will know about the Beatles. They had John, Paul, George and Ringo. Bob Dylan wrote and recorded for them. Their guitarists were Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. They had songs like Satisfaction and Stairway to Heaven. Sometimes they smashed up their instruments. They played at Woodstock and Altamont. Yoko Ono broke them up but Jagger/Richards formed

Nice article, thanks. I love Texas Tornados and the great Freddy Fender and Flaco Jiménez. And there's a Stones connection, too. Flaco played the button accordian on Sweethearts Together.
