I was casually listening to Sirius/XM today and was not paying attention but then though cool they are playing "Stay with Me" by the Faces. But no, it was Chicago's "Feeling stronger everyday". The early part of that song sounds amazingly like "Stay with me" to my ears. Anyone else hear it like this? I don't have any problem with it, just noticed it

That was really sweet! You could see the explosiveness bubbling under there. Another few years and their stage presence would be perfected.

1969 if this is vote for you favorite. Just the rawness and grit of this tour. It is truly the beginning of the modern rock show.

Hopefully most folks know that the show was 100% staged and fake. My niece appeared in 2 episodes. One as a hooker girlfriends of a married man and of course came on stage to surprise the "wife". Her other appearance was of pregnant women with who's the daddy drama.

QuoteKoen Do they play live tracks from other bands? Yes Sirius/XM plays live cuts on deep tracks, classic vinyl, classic rewind. Deep tracks is where I would think the Stones live stuff would go nuts. The other channels are very vanilla. But besides current radio, In my 40+ years of FM listening, Stones live cuts are rare air. I think even even non Stones fans would admit they are a force

QuoteDiamondDog7 I love the Stones. But I think I'm one of the few who DON'T want to hear or care for a new album by the Stones! Another KR riff, another 'forced' MJ vocals, mediocre lyrics, no Charlie etc etc...All these elements on a new album? No, I pass. We're blessed with all those magical albums like Sticky Fingers, Exile, Beggars, Some Girls. I'll stay with

I listen to a lot of XM/Sirius/FM radio and literally never hear a Stones live track. Even on Deep Tracks (which is playing Sleep Tonight as I type this!) there is literarily no live Stones played. I think in my 40+ years as a Stones fan I have only heard Ya-Ya's tracks played on a FM station overnight on the old WZMF station in Milwaukee, WI. Why wouldn't any classic rock stat

Is Wolfgangs Vault worth the subscription price? Looks to be approx $50 per year. In the scheme of things today that is not much. Just wondering what you all thought.

The pre Michael Macdonald Doobies could be a good rocking band back in the day. Seems steep but if they are your favorite that is up to you.

I watched the movie "Big Star - Nothing Can Hurt Me" They were a rock band based in Memphis in the early mid 70's. They were associated with Stax Records. Many consider their 3 LP's to be classics. I knew virtually nothing about them. I vaguely knew that Alex Chilton of the Box Tops was in the group. Thought some here might enjoy the movie. I streamed it on Amazon Prime.

I have been thinking about what the Stones future "stage" plans could be. I thought about the Ray Davies "Storyteller" tours of the late 90's. They were half music, half storytelling. I would love to see the boys in a intimate setting (under 1000). Basically just going over the celebration/history of the band and taking questions and interacting with the fans. It coul

Yeah, we are big college football fans and the big time college bands and football are a perfect mix. We are Wisconsin Badgers folks and are blessed to have one of the best bands in the USA in my opinion. NFL needs to ditch slutty cheerleaders and silly SB fluffery. But, it is about the money not the football so it will only get worse.

Tell me again why the Monkees have never been even considered for the rock and roll hall of fame? If the fools that run the RnR HOF did half the research of the folks in this article that place might not be a joke.

I am kind of a purist when the genres were pretty clearly defined. I just find it insulting when a thing called Miss Elliott is even considered and Paul Revere & the Raiders is ignored and abandoned. Do these nominating folks have any actual interest in rock and roll? If not I wish they would at least change the name to "Post mid century music exhibit". I can at least be pro

I complain every year but my pet peeve is the complete abandonment of the hugely successful mid 60's groups like Hermans Hermits, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Monkees, Gerry and the Pacemakers. Ugh. These groups brought rock and roll to television and that seems to be completely ignored. Just wrong in my opinion.

I am holding out so far. She did get a 10% coupon from Steiff. She does have other Steiff products and they are shockingly expensive. We will see. I suspect one will be gracing my Stones themed office this summer. But, her money and she is a strong independent women, so my grumbling only goes so far.

Any history buffs should really take a look and listen to Al Stewart. His most "famous" not famous song is called "Roads to Moscow" A 9 minute gem about German WWII German soldiers caught behind Russian lines after the war.

I received the boxed set by Al Stewart "Admiralty Lights" for Christmas. It has 50 cd's including 17 live shows, multiple cds of unreleased song and such, and of course beautifully remastered legit releases and a large coffee table book. Great stuff. My post is more about what a great idea this type of set would be for many acts. Imagine a Kinks 50-75 cd set like this? Or any g

I suspect it is about financial considerations. Who pays who and what type stuff. Some of the channels are quote good. U2 has a lot of interaction on their station. I suspect the Stones themselves would not put much effort into their station, but as others said knowledgeable fans and guests could bring a lot.
