Hello there fellow Stones Fans Gime Shelter is perhaps one of my top 3 Stones Songs of all time, both Live (with M.Taylor & Wyman) and recorded versions. One thing I'm after though is what IS that scraping sound most noticeable at the beginning on the intro bit? I've been told, it's a washboard, its a guiro, a latin guiro - if its a guiro what type/kind/size is it? i&

having listened to Vinyl, Tape, CD, MP3, SACD, & finally HDtracks of Let It Bleed (My Fav studio Album)... SACD & HDtracks are handsdown eeeaassily a BIG BIG step up in sound quality than all the others. (please note i haven't listened to the SACD on a SACD player, however, on my ears IT'S STILL ALOT better sounding btw) Now comparing SACD with HDtracks of the album, the

QuoteTrulyMicks Quoterollmops Just heard Andrew Loog Oldham on his radio show doing like us, speculating about the future of his former band. Andrew said that although Mick and Keith have had difficulties between them in the past, it was always about the relationship which eventually they had been able to manage like other "married couples". But Andrew said that this time it's abou

interesting... who's better doing the faces now, hucknall or stewart? who looks better on stage now, hucknall or stewart who sings better? think it boils down to, comfy old worn slippers that dont cut/fit/wear as well as they used to and looks a little flabby and shabby or newer slippers, with a better insole, tighter fit, no holes, but come in bright orange i like comfy slippers

Hi Midnight Rambler is an amazing tune and have loved the live versions wirth Mick Taylor playing in the 70s the most. I do love the version on Get Yer Ya Ya's out but notice none of the live boots i have are arranged in this same way, they all seem to have a similiar basic longer version (like the brussell's live 70s gig for eg) i notice most that the GYYYO version always cuts

Quotekowalski QuotealimenteHonestly, I believe it's all fetish. Well the fact is until now there was no good digital version of this album anyway. That's why I'm wondering if this SACD might be the one (or not). From what I read it's a flat transfer from the master tapes. When listening to the audio sample I was talking about one can hear a very clear sound. Now why they

QuoteAmsterdamned Thanks for posting. Nice Taylor intro "Time is on my side", absolutely not overplayed. He made the song a bit acceptable and he has a warm tone, as this sterile sounding version (and Keith's or Ron's solo?) imo is an insult to the original. Why the f*ck did he leave? But Mick taylor only played on the songs in Red? he doesnt play on the songs in black

QuoteSleepy City QuoteMathijs Judging on the boots, Taylor does overplay a bit. Good example is Time is on My Side. The stones intend this song to start slowly and softly with only Keith's guitar and a bass drum, and then develop into a full band setting. But Taylor throws in a loud, blistering and full solo over that gentle intro. Taylor fans might like this, but it surely is not what the b
