I read in an interview with ABKCO that they are planning to re-issue another batch of cd's. Next year would be quite perfect. And now that they have finally re-issued the first two uk albums and the uk Big Hits comps, digitally, they likely to be made available on cd next time around as well.

i have the SACD and also the HDtracks versions of Let It Bleed - both sound incredible tbh - but as to which is better its vvv marginal but i do prefer the HDtracks, probly a mind over matter as i know these are MASSIVE files like 1.6 Gigs for the album

My computer soundcard is connected to my Hi Fi system. It's enough to enjoy these high definition files.
By the way HDtracks has just released the 3 UK EP's from the 60's in High Resolution.

To me, that is the only real problem with these files, that you are limited to having to listen through your computer system, in order to get the true HD sound.

Perhaps recording to Blu Ray disc is an option?

Also don't forget that most computers are not designed to handle audio properly and make plenty of noise. Unless you are using a professional sound card with a dedicated and stable power supply, it doesn't make much sense imo.

What is the verdict on the Rolling Stones albums available from HDtracks.com at 176kHz/24bit, e.g. Beggar's Banquet or Let It Bleed?
I'm not a USA resident, so can't apparently order from HDtracks.com; must be a record company licensing issue, but I am just curious.
Cheers.

Beggars Banquet actually has more dynamic range on the ABKCO remaster, if you go by the numbers.Quote

As for Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed I still prefer to listen to my good old London CD's as dynamic range is more respected.

Actually you're right. Well it must be something else then

Maybe you prefer it at slightly slower speed/pitch?

That may be one of the reason. Also I don't like that much the 2002 remasters "muffled sound" ...

Hmmm, my 2002 remaster CD sounds pretty much perfect.
