Quoteslewan setlist.fm now says they did SFM as an opener. But I think that's unlikely since that would mean that HTW is the 10th song Anyone and their dog can post setlists on setlist.fm - that's the whole point of this great site actually but it's hardly anything official !

QuoteGasLightStreet Living In A Ghost Town was better than anything on A BIGGER BANG. Which is not saying much as that album wasn't very memorable, apart from maybe LIND...What really didn't help ABB is that it sounds like a demo, which it was as Mick had planned to record it proper in a real studio, likely with extra musicians to add some flavor, something that had worked well for

On her insta, but that's not at Hyde Park Thanks, it's so annoying when people don't bother to post their source/link... So here's the link and there's zero to imply it's related to HP2...

Quoteretired_dog Certainly no fireworks and other extravaganza... But the question at stake is why a guitar player of his magnitude who's right up there with the other british blues legends released only 2 studio albums in more than 40 years and used to play the tiniest shitholes while someone like Joe Bonamassa can play the Royal Albert Hall? Just a better management or does it have anythin

QuoteChitown23 I saw the Stadium Tour this week in Charlotte. It was a long show! 1980s me woulda been psyched. 2020s me was ready to go home after spending 7 hours in the venue. Fun to see the hair band fans all grown up, LOL. I've seen all these bands previously when we were all younger. Joan Jett and Poison were great! Motley Crue was sub-par because Vince Neil sucks. Def Leppard were

QuoteTheflyingDutchman Yes he could. My guess is that Taylor just had enough of playing on stage and has retired since 2016. On grueling club tours, yeah of course, but again, it seems it would have been so easy to guest on projects, in the studio or live, this remains a mystery to me...

Complaining is one thing...It's a shame "Taylor's management" hasn't bothered to come up with anything of interest for Mick and his fans for the past 8 years ! There were comments during/after his stint with the Stones that touring alone was not an option as it was just too tiring (hectic schedule required not to lose money) but surely he could have played some one-of

Best bet is probably to park at Eurexpo and then catch a shuttle that uses a specially built road. All the options are listed here for the 19th : In other news the opening band will be "Nothing But Thieves" apparently

QuoteManofwealthandtaste I was thinking of the various singers who have performed Gimme Shelter with the Stones......Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer, Florence Welch, Sasha Allen..... was Chanel number 5? Add Lady Gaga to that list and I'm pretty sure Mary J.Blige sang it at the O2/1 too, yes : @campxray - thanks for digging up that more detailed info, misleading article indeed.

Dunno about his recollections about IORR, seems odd that Mick would bring an idea from Jamaica to the Wick... What he says about Ian Stewart is maybe more interesting, that he was running the show on a very limited budget. I wonder if he was on a salary or got some kind of cut ? "The sessions with Perkins and Mandel where in Rotterdam (weeks), Munich (days) and Zurich (days), and Per

So I gave Munich a listen and it is indeed better than this one, not a very wide stereo unfortunately. Unless I've missed something we have yet to get a really good recording of this tour. I might have to record Lyon then to see what I can get. My Marseille recording from 2018 had turned out pretty decent I think...and it was used by bootleggers too, hehe ;-)

QuoteKRiffhard I think the Stones should call her now. And bring her back to the stage right away It wouldn't fair to Sasha who's done nothing wrong but yeah that GS performance by Chanel in Milan was stunning, the best one ever since the original recording to my ears. At HP it was back to the usual modulating screeching and shouting and "acting" unfortunately, show-business

Been listening to the audio, it's really good and Macca's voice is in the best shape it's been in years, even his talking voice has lost that thick "veil", amazing ! Since nothing lasts forever (even Macca or the Stones) I wonder if he's not tempted to stop on that huge high, event wise and quality wise, and it was the 500th concert of that line-up too !

Thanks for the link, and nice to reread the liner notes from "our own" GM : "Stone Glimmerman February 1998". Have all three sets too, love them ! Got the first two direct from Vigotone in 95 and 96, can't remember how I ordered them exactly after getting a catalogue somehow. did I send some $ in the mail ? Don't think so as I definitely remember going to my

That makes sense, would explain why a song that was mastered for GHS and wasn't used didn't make it on the deluxe version.

Wow that audio sounds glorious ! Thanks Impressed with Macca's voice too, sounds a lot better than it has in recent years and certainly not "distracting" at all as it can be on the latest studio albums.

QuoteCaptain Jack Sparrow I think euphoria is an interesting thing. After reading the reviews of this gig I listened and watched it. One of my favourite tracks, cyhmk was praised universally but I am afraid I have to disagree. Compared with the licks tour where the song was probably twice as long and twice as good. Jagger didn’t even play harp at this last gig. They just rushed through it imo N

There clearly was stuff lined up based on several concurring comments by people apparently in the know,. Why it didn't happen is anyone's guess...maybe the leakers were made to feel some heat. But yeah, 4 albums worth of stuff to digest on there and it's barely been a year so let's keep going back to it and enjoy it!
