Quoteslewan saw them once some 25 years ago. It was good but I don't feel any urge to see them again 10 years ago for me at Bercy and ditto, they don't really have that magic that keeps you wanting to go back again and again like another band we know ;-) Well at least they no longer have it, might have been different when The Ox was still around...

On this topic is there a list somewhere of all the guest appearances at Stones' shows ? From the top of my head I'd say that Sheryl Crown is the one they've had most often ?

Yeah I don't think UYI has aged that well, unlike Appetite. It's just lacking in memorable tracks and terribly bloated, a bit like Oasis's "Be Here Now". Stuff like "Get in the Ring" might have generated interest at the time but now it's embarrassing TBH and sums up all that had gone wrong with this band.

I remember reading a period interview in an old mag I'd found where Keith claimed he'd wiped all the parts and rerecorded them himself. That single remains a bit of a mystery, whose idea was it ? Was it a Mick/Keith deal after Mick did the Peter Tosh single ?

Quotegotdablouse Quotedoitywoik I remember that when B2B was released, Keith said in interviews they had recorded so much stuff that there would be a follow-up album the following year - which of course never happened. Asking about all that here on IORR several years ago I was told, roughly, that (some of?) these surplus songs ended up on ABB and various singles as b-sides. If anyone has mor

When did Izzy say this ? I'm not a drumming expert but it seems to me that "14 Years" and "Dust and Bones" groove along pretty nicely and that was Sorum on drums apparently ?

QuoteCaptainAcid Quotedcba It's a rework of Glimmerman's most recent offerings. Thank you Cpt! Yup, that`s true, thanks F. And yet Glimmerman is still not credited in the first message...please fix ASAP.

All good points but Izzy had really poor stage presence, especially as a singer. I remember buying a VHS tape (Pro shot) at a record fair in London in February 1992 with either 14 years or DnB (or both?) on it sung by Izzy and it was a bit of a snooze sadly. Maybe these can be found on YT. I'd say they lost more than 1/3 of the writing section when Izzy left, more like 45% overall and 85%

A fascinating read and I appreciate they spent the time and effort on it as I don't recall any previous detailed write-ups? It seems this was mostly limited to the GnR forums...like discussing FFSO was limited to here. Much less dramatic fortunately! Agreed on this deserving its own thread as the subject hits home I would say ;-)

Quotempj200 QuoteRocky Dijon There are no issues with Charlie's estate. He didn't quit the band. As for whether there is an anthology and a studio album, let's wait to see what those plugged in closer (Soldatti, mpj, and those close to Don Was) have to say. Their word will be far more reliable. The album has cuts with Charlie and Steve. With UMG, however, one never knows. It’s cl

The last PPV ! If memory serves it was streamed by Yahoo, oddly, 10$ ? Great memory, lugged my TV in my car 10+k down the road, and it was at 3AM here so it was a bit of a struggle to stay awake, haha ;-)

Can't see how that would be Nicky playing that rudimentary piano, has to be Mick. Not sure about a co-write either based on that demo, Mick has the structure worked out at this stage, now they could have worked on it together earlier of course.

How about an "Americana" version, they did a pretty good one for McCartney/Beatles/Wings. "Yellow Submarine" has some cool fiddle playing.

QuoteRocky Dijon QuoteChristiaan ROCKY DIJON can you tell me which song was Plundered My Soul as a bootleg? I never heard that song on a bootleg. I’m not saying I have or know all the recording, not at all. So I’m very curious if you can lead me to that (original) recording I do think I heard most of the other songs before, Yes they added some new lyrics or overdubs. As Doxa said, the backing

Well I can hear a skip...that track isn't much more than a jam, it's doubtful there are several version flying around ? Quotemicha063 Yes, it seems to be the official release. It's a very nice tune. I like the blues tunes from 1989. They didn't make it on the album but at least as singles. You made the same mistake as Karnbach in his 1997 IORR book, Cook Cook Blues was in

Not sure how I missed that! Great jam, the bluesy version of "Hot Stuff" ! Amazing how eclectic the guys were at the time ;-) The sound is really good too, to think we've been torturing our ears with the "mailbox recording" De Doelen 75 sessions for years ! And yes GM, thanks for sharing another great gem !
