Last year in Europe she was very visible indeed at most shows and I went to 3. She seemed to pop up everywhere. I saw her several times in Oslo. She stayed with Grandpa in his hotel and was frequently seen smoking out at the front door. crawdaddy will second me on that! She took photos of the early queueing fans at the Telenor Arena and then audience shots once we were all inside, posting them u

Great news that you're back Mr DP! The place was much the poorer without you. I listened to all of thst performance of Backstreet Girl. Wow!!! And that's only an early take ??? I've listened to several songs from your project and I'm very impressed. From your long lost Scottish cousin >< (I have the Scottish version of your Swedish surname -only 1 s )

It's only once been played live in my presence -.on the b stage at Foxboro Stadium at the start of the licks tour. And for those there, you may remember something went badly wrong with the sound mix during the track and it ended up being a bit of a mess.

I'm not even that keen on the song, but love the live Hampton version. For me it's the Stones at their raw, rocking best. Love those loud, fast guitars

Hamilton, Lanarkshire,Scotland. Left aged 14 and have lived in a village near Swindon, Wiltshire, England ever since though. Never lost my Scottish accent though The Stones played in Hamilton in May 1964 and it was, umm, somewhat riotous The gig gets a mention in Keith's book and Bill remembers it too >< They came to Swindon several times in their early years too and I've

Having seen U2 once on every tour since 1987 (the Joshua Tree Tour), I find it impossible to believe that all of the music heard by the audience at the show comes from the 4 core members on Stage. I've heard backing vocals with no microphone to be seen near anyone other than Bono!

Quotepgarof It's great to see just 4 guys on stage playing Rock and Roll how they always have with no backing musicians and singers, all origional I think. U2 are well known to make heavy use of playbacks and backing tracks - up to 50% on some songs. So when you see them live, as I have done 6 times since the 80s, you're hearing half band, half karaoke.... And I'm seeing them in L

First broadcast around Christmas 2010 IIRC. Watched it at the time.

QuoteMrThompsonWooft No but have you considered the similarity between U2s When Love Comes To Town (1988) and the Stones You Got Me Rocking (1994)? Have a listen and tell us what you think. My friend's wife is a Director of Music and a very accomplished multi-instrumentalist. She came along with us to the Sheffield show of the Voodoo Lounge tour, 20 years ago this week. She made this very

Quotecrawdaddy Great to here you enjoyed it runaway. Pete was obviously in a good mood yesterday. He can change like the weather I guess. I guessed that was you Gregor, behind the guy in blue shirt. Could just see your hair but I thought, that's Gregor . The security guy near us looks a bit Nerdy, but he was very good with water and keeping his eyes open in our area. Very civilize

Quotecrawdaddy Just found this pic on Who website along with this article. Can see myself and zgubi with her arm on the rail chatting. Also paulywaul in his prime spot. Beast was off having a pint with the nice girl from France who was there. BluzDude and Chris Egan are there somewhere as well. Where are you Gregor ? I can't see you on the right, but know you are there somewhere up fro

I'm concerned to note that they're down to 19 songs a night from an initial 22. Substitute, a song I love was dropped in April, and Can't Explain , for my money, a blistering show opener has not been played since the excellent Hyde Park show. For the last 3, Who are you has been moved to the opening slot. Roger is clearly having to manage his voice. Pete's moods seem to be v

QuoteStones50 Yes but Madison Sq Garden is their concert home Really ? On what do you base this assertion other than your own strongly held opinion and perhaps you live nearby? Their concert home at any given time is where it's being performed - Kansas City last time out and Raleigh next. Your opinion seems very similar to a poster on here who used the now inactivated handle alhavu1 and

QuoteStones50 QuoteChester No offense to the fine folks in Quebec, but it just wouldn't seem right, would it? The last show ever rightly belongs in Madison Square Garden Why? All 4 are born and bred. Londoners. The hands down logical place is London, where it all started.

Quotebv What if the sun does not come up tomorrow? Sorry to be creepy, but that made me laugh a lot. It covers just about every scenario with a not 100% certain future, which is most things in life. In Scotland we have a saying, "Say little but say it well".

QuoteDoc Since most of the brittons are on vacation in August, why not play France instead ? Bordeaux and Nice for example. Because France got a show at the Stade de France in Paris last year, drawing a 76,000 crowd. I was there. The point is, we are their home country, where it all started in 1962/3 and they've not played here for 2 years now. And I think you'll find more Brit

I agree Tony. Fantastic day out from start to finish, with all flaws (the usual poor security and unpunished pushers-in). Imho, it's very hard to beat a day of bands in Hyde Park in the Summer Time. Another one to be added to the collection of great gigging memories. I'm going to Copenhagen on Friday and I'm tempted to go to Roskilde on Saturday where Paul McCartney's he

The crowd were mad for it on Friday night in Hyde Park! I feel that they subject themselves to far too punishing a schedule. The Stones now do 2 shows a week and the Who and MCCartney really ought to follow suit to get the best out of themselves. In March the Who did back to back gigs at the O2 and and MCCartney followed suit at the same venue in May - silly for performers of their age if you ask

A contributory factor may be that their setlist was brought forward by 30 mins at short notice and they were given no time to do a sound check. On Friday night the sound checks were carried out by the crew of not just the Who but their 4 support acts and seemed very thorough. It will be interesting to hear what happens in Paris on Tuesday, firstly for how good a performance they deliver and se

BBC broadcast just finished. They showed about 10 songs of a rather curtailed 16 song set list. For those seeing them in Europe and America later in the year, I hope this was not a sign of problems. I thought Roger sang pretty well but Pete looked to be in one of his pissed off can't be bothered moods. I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of others with a deeper knowledge of this band

Yep, I'm watching now. The naughty line in Who are You?, the show opener was left in Sad that they've dropped Can't Explain as their opener imho. Pictures of Lily is back but Substitute not played since mid April, perhaps due to the strain of that chorus on Roger's voice.

The show at Hyde Park on Friday night was filmed for a future official release. I was there. Their official start time for tonight's show is 945pm but the BBC2 broadcast is not until 2240pm. So either the BBC are joining the show half way through and broadcasting live or it's a delayed broadcast with naughty words edited out There were a few of those on Friday night...

QuoteBeast Maybe it's something to do with the planned Stones museum in London? Oh don't say that Beast. I want a gig . However, realistically it's not a bad shout. Announcing the start of what would be a building, renovating job would be far from thrilling though. IORRian Crawdaddy tells me that the Old Crawdaddy club in Richmond is now a posh eatery so perhaps they'll make

Quoteflairville I think you'll find StraycatUK is referring to a UK gig not Knebworth. Yep, that's my take too. August 15th could well still be the date, but just not at Knebworth. We'll see.... It does definitely sound like something is afoot though.

Why else would they bomb us with this #Stonesism marketing? Oh forgive me, a London gig is extremely likely yes. But anyone expecting Knebworth this year is out of their mind. I agree - Knebworth is looking

QuoteEddieByword Wembley would be good............. That's a very good shout as they've yet to play it since it was rebuilt and I'm sure they're keen to do it. Last show there was 12th June 1999. I was there. The tail end of the BtB tour and their last £30 all GA tickets tour. The whole lower tier of seats was unreserved too and available to GA ticket holders. And even then
